I started getting very watery fluid leaking from my vaginal area late this week, and it seams to be getting worse. Sometimes it’s very spotty, but I’ve gotten panty linners wet through and it’s leaked onto my underware. I have already lost a pregnancy around the same time where I experienced the same leaking fluid, which I am assuming is ambilical fluid. I’ve already done a good amount of googling and it doesn’t look good. Has anyone experienced this and it’s turned out okay?

I have no idea but I’d call your local hospital and ask, maybe they’ll want to see you?

Internet or doctor?? The choice seems clear.

Yes, my sister had something similiar and it turned out to be vaginal discharge. However, she went to the doctor right away and they were able to ascertain it wasn’t amniotic fluid. I urge you to go to a hospital and get checked out instead of trying to diagnose yourself with google.

I would think this calls for a trip to the emergency room asap. Good luck!

The ER can do a check to see if it’s amniotic fluid. http://www.fitpregnancy.com/pregnancy/pregnancy-health/whats-drip
its normal to have discharge early in pregnancy and also throughout pregnancy, that may be watery like fertileCM or thicker.

I am so sorry this is happening, and I hope it’s nothing bad. I say go get checked for your own peace of mind. Every minute that passes is valuable. (Hugs)
Could it possibly be urine? Have you tried the smell check? I heard that if it smells like ammonia it’s probably urine and if it’s smells sweet it might be the amniotic fluid. I remember having to pee so often especially early on and leaking urine here and there. I think my bladder must have gotten extra full a few times while going on a road trip.

I’m not a doctor, but isn’t the gestational sac only a few millimeters wide at five weeks? I’d be surprised if there was enough fluid in that to cause a noticeable leak. Again, not a doctor or a medical professional, but in my non-doctor opinion, I think it’s more likely to be vaginal discharge than amniotic fluid. I remember having tons of discharge in the first few weeks of pregnancy. Fingers crossed that it turns out to be just some harmless discharge!

I had a TON of discharge the first few weeks of my pregnancy (only 8 weeks now). I could be wrong but wouldn’t the sac be so small at this point that even if all the fluid from it leaked, it would be barely anything? My bet is that it’s just normal discharge. But if you are miscarrying I don’t think there is anything they can do for you at the ER this early along. I hope it’s nothing!

First rule of pregnancy: Stay the hell off of Google!!! Seriously, all you will do is cause yourself (and baby) tons of unneeded stress. Whenever you have a question, concern, or anything else, there is one person you should call. Your doctor or advice nurse.
I would call in and see what they recommend. I know with my daughter I had tons of discharge, and quite a bit of it. But only the doctor will be able to tell you if it’s amniotic fluid. Call and see what they want you to do. And good luck! Keeping you in my prayers <3

Thanks girls. I did some more googling and it sounds like many women have this and there was no concern, but I think there is a nurses hotline I can call, so I will do that in the morning. If I do MC, there is nothing they can do, so it will just be a wasted trip. My doctor noticed it during my last pregnancy and didn’t seam concerned, but she already knew that the pregnancy was failing, so I’m not sure if there was a point of saying anything if there was a concern. I think the googling made me a little crazy!
