Ok, so everyone’s talking about the whole leap day thing, well, my fiance proposed to me in Sept and then had to leave the country because of visa expiration the DAY after :< So we’ve been spending our whole engagement apart. He proposed with a beautiful speech to me in front of all our friends at his going away party, which I’m glad he got to do since I had no thoughts whatsoever about me proposing (he wouldn’t have liked it if I proposed first anyway). But he touched me so much with his words and the “Will you marry me” question, it was amazing to know he wanted nothing more than to share his life with me.
I want to give him that feeling too, so on Feb 29th I want to do a little proposal thing for him, obviously don’t have a ring but I would like to surprise him with something nice. He is still in Australia though,…I know we could video chat with me on one knee and I can tell him how I feel and ask the question, but I’m wondering if anyone else has any Ideas of how I can make it extra special even though he is far away…
Please let me know ;D!

Fly to him as a surprise! I guess you would need to get on a plane now and still may not make it in time but it would be an amazing surprise. I don’t know what airports you would use or how much a flight to Australia typically costs but I just did a Kayak serach from DC to Sydney and found AA for about $1700 leaving at 17:39 today. Ultimately this is not cheap but I actually expected it would be a lot more for such a last minute flight. It’s still cheaper than most engagement rings.

If you have video chat, what about writing out a heartfelt letter telling him how you feel. But get like a really nice pen and good paper & envelopes and all that. And then actually mail him the letter after you read it to him. Get him stuff to match and send it in a package so you can write letters back and forth. I always thought letters were so nice and romantic.
Another suggestion too, not so much for leap year day, since it’s tomorow, is writing down something about your Fiance every day that you love about him, or a reason why you love him. You don’t necessarily have to give it to him, and the reasons don’t have to be big. But devote 5-10 minutes each day reflecting on why you love him. I did that for almost 3 months (until I filled up a notebook) for my Boyfriend or Best Friend and it really made me feel closer to him…
