Okay, you’re walking down the supermarket and you see all your favorite sweets, snacks, drinks and everything your tummy desires. How do you have self control! Like You take a box of gushers home and promise to eat one once a day, then you end up eating two a day. What are your secrets to self control? do you think it ruins your fun when your out ? Share! (:
As for me, I do indulge in so much junk food but in small quanitities. I make sure if I eat something sugary for instnace earlier in my day, I try not to eat anything else for the rest of the night. I dont really exercise to much anyway. Maybe If I increased my workouts I could eat as much as I like.
What about you?

To me “self-control” is a dumb thing invented by sadists who have never tried dieting. I eat when I’m hungry and I stop when I’m full! I don’t even go down the aisles that have junk foods in them, so there’s no temptation to buy, and I don’t keep anything in the house that I wouldn’t feel good about eating. I feel better when I eat healthier, and so there’s not much temptation to do otherwise!

Thats a good idea, I like that. To not walk down the isles where I know theres temptation.. might give that a try one day! I dont diet and eat whe Im hungry and stop when im full but I try to seperate my eating time 2-3 hours apart and eat as much as Id like while im eating

Start off each meal with a glass of water to fill you up, have another one while you’re eating, and eat slower. It takes awhile for your stomach to realize that you’re full, so most times, you’re eating much more than you really need.

I don’t really crave sweets. For me, putting the junk food on the top shelf is demotivating enough not to eat them(I high ceilings & cabinets up at 9 ft). I also divert my interest: if I want a cookie I’ll grab a fruit (bananas or grapefruits are my favourites!). I’ve also replaced chips with corn nuts cause I eat potato chips uncontrollably & all I really want is the salty crunch.
It keeps my belly happy & I never really feel deprived.

Well do you guys or have you ever tried giving in with limits? Like okay, @MrsRugbee:
you say if you want a cookie you go for a fruit, Did you or can you just have a cookie then have a fruit after? to get the best of both worlds?

I sometimes do it the other day around: Grab a fruit & if I’m still craving sweet I’ll get a cookie after. Most of the time I find I’m satisfied before I even get to the cookie.
Also, I’ve discovered greek yogurt is the greatest in the world! So rich & creamy! MMMMmmm!!!!

I’ve found that when I’m craving something sweet that a glass of water usually does it for me. Not sure why. I think it has a little to do with boredom and maybe a slight oral fixation. But I fill a glass with ice and a touch of water and spend the next 30 minutes crunching on ice and for whatever reason my craving goes away. I’ll switch it up with juice and ice on bad days. I don’t avoid sweets. I’ll induldge from time to time. But when I know I’ve had some recently or shouldn’t be munching on crap I grab my ice water. I also don’t keep junk food in the house regularly. So I’d have to go out of my way to have it and usually it isn’t worth challenging my laziness for. 🙂
