Okay so over the weekend I bought a super cute pair of leather leggings. I love them and I honestly planned on wearing them to work. My work has a very casual dress code but I still try to dress for work. I mean we are talking I could get away with jeans and hoodies. My husband today told me he wasn’t sure if I should wear them to work. This worried me because my Darling Husband NEVER says anything about what I wear. So my question is would you wear them to work?

What would you wear them with? I could see it being cute or look like you’re going clubbing depending on what you pair it with.

Glasgowbound: This is the style I had planned.

JLFinch: They look a little too flirtatious for work.

JLFinch: I voted yes because you said you have a laid back office. I couldn’t get away with them in my office though!

Even though you say it’s a casual work environment, I’d still try and stay away from super clingy clothes. They’re cute, just not for work.

Um, that is a super cute outfit! I don’t know why anyone would tell you that is not an appropriate outfit for work, especially one as casual as you describe.
My husband usually has no comments on what I wear, but he does not like it when I wear my awesomely broken-in Frye Harness boots with jean shorts (not short-short) or skirts/ dresses. He does not understand fashion at ALL😛
So, I say ignore him and wear them!

LilliV: It is very laid back. One lady wears hot pink sweatpants all winter!

I think the outfit looks fine… Especially considering jeans and sweatshirts are considered appropriate.

Leather leggings + tunic sweater. I would do it! I have a pair of black cotton leggings with a leather tuxedo stripe and I wear them all the time to work in the fall and winter. Just make sure the booty is covered!

stephncollins: See I wear regular leggings all the time to work and I never thought twice about it. No one has ever said anything about it either. Booty is always covered though.
I guess I will play around with the outfit and see what happens!

I work in a super casual environment also (the entire finance department wears screen print t-shirts and tennis shoes, and some even wear shorts in the summer.)
My answer is that it depends on your job and where you want to be. If you’re in management or trying to climb the ladder, it is better to be on the side of caution and keep them for the weekend. If you’re a clerk-type role and are happy, and don’t care what people think, then go for it.
For what it’s worth, I like the look of the outfit you pinned and would wear them to work with a sweater dress or something that completely covers the booty. Also, for what it’s worth, I’m wearing light blue tights and a black dress/heels today and work for a company that makes crazy colored socks/tights.

You look super cute! But I wouldn’t wear them to work.

I’m an architect and (obviously) working in a design office, so our dress code is lax/funky but it’s just based on the style everyone likes to wear. Some people wear dressy-casual – khakies and button down shirts, but myself and the other women in our office wear all kinds of things. I’ve done leather leggings with a long tunic top and got all kinds of compliments. I do think with leggings the booty should be covered but that’s just my two cents!

I think the photo you posted is fine for work since you have a casual enviroment – we do too (almost everyone wears jeans). You wouldn’t look out of place at our office if you wore that.
