I’m getting botox tomorrow at a medispa in LA. It has received great reviews and was voted the best medispa in Los Angeles. I figure that I can try it out and if I like it, I will get it for the wedding, and if I don’t, it will have worn off.
My question is – if you get this done at a spa (a certified nurse performs it), so I still tip for this? They only do this on certain days since the nurses only work two days a week. So it isn’t like this is an esthetician performing it.
I’ve never done this before, so I don’t know what the proper ettiquette is… I mean, I don’t tip when I go to the doctor, but I do tip when I get a facial.
What say you ladies?

It’s a medical procedure, I wouldn’t tip. But then again I don’t get botox, so that’s just my guess!

I have never gotten Botox, but when I go to my dermatologist I don’t tip . . .
Artbee: Botox for migraines? I have had migraines since I was a child and I have tried everything to curb them (so, far nothing has worked). If it is not too personal, would you mind explaining that a little more? I am going to see a new Neuro soon and may want to discuss this if it is an option.

You could secretly call and ask if that’s the norm! lol
They may have a no-tip policy. Then ti’d be awkward when she refuses your money.

How old are you that you want Botox? I had some done last year but I’m probably double your age! lol
Mine was done by a specialist Dr. but I never considered tipping. In a Spa,I don’t know. Medical professionals don’t normally get tipped. What’s the name of it? My best friend’s sister does this in LA but she’s a Physicians’ Assistant.

Yeah, I think calling might be a good idea. In general, I would think med professionals don’t take tips, but I totally understand your concern, because it is a spa.

I’m 28. I would like to see how it looks on me.

LOL! See? I was right! Deep forehead creases? Not crow’s feet already? The Glabella?
I really loved how it smoothed everything out,as between squinting wearing glasses and contacs forever, and baking in the sun when younger,I ruined my skin. I’d do it every 3 months if I could! Good luck. 🙂

i wouldn’t tip at a medispa. I go to a medispa in NYC and i dont tip. I asked some friends of mine before i first went (for laser) and none of them tipped so i didnt either. i think was what was most confusing for me was that i wasnt paying EACH time, i purchased a package so i wasnt sure if i was to tip on the total price, one time, or tip each time i go. since there are diff techs when i go, i decided its best not to tip!
esp* since you are doing botox and it’s on specified days with a nurse as the person doing the procedure, i would def say you dont need to tip!
