Well, we got married 5 weeks ago and we’re finally leaving for our honeymoon tomorrow! We’re going to Florida and we’ve both never been. We live in California and have been to DisneyLand NUMEROUS times so we decided to go to DisneyWorld this time!! I’m over the moon. It was honestly really tough to go right back to work after our wedding. Did anyone else have delayed honeymoon? I want to know where everyone went/is going!

@ThinkingOutLoud: OMG I want to go there so bad someday! We delayed our honeymoon by a few weeks as well, and we went on a cruise to Key West, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica. It was a blast, and I would do it all over again (although I would choose Royal Carribean over Carnival next time for a fancier experience).
I ate so much it’s not even funny. Ice cream at all hours of the night. Holy moley!

OMG!!! So excited for you! We got married the same day as you and went to Disney the next day! Make sure you get your honeymoon buttons! Darling Husband and I got lots of little extras along the way! We had such a blast, had dinner inside Cinderella’s castle and got to watch fireworks from inside. I met all the princesses and they were so fun!
Epcot should still have food and wine festival going on, totally recommend it but I also recommend having a meal before because the lines can be long. Use your fast passes to your advantage, especially for Toy Story at Hollywood Studios! Go there FIRST and get your fast pass!
Oh im so jealous, I actually cried the day we left! Have SO MUCH FUN!!!

@ThinkingOutLoud: Have soooo much fun!!! Fiance and I spent a week down there last month and had a fabulous time. There is so much to do and so much to EAT! Do you guys have advance reservations anywhere? Where are you staying?

Oh, I love Epcot and the Animal one! International Food and Wine Festival is going on at Epcot! Never been to that but I love food and wine so it sounds appealing. Epcot is my favorite because I love booze and food…so much food!!
Weather should be great this time of year, not too hot which is all that matters to me.

Ours was delayed by a week, and going back to work was TORTUROUS!
We went on a cruise in the Carribean!

We got married Aug 10th and are leaving for our honeymoon November 2nd!
I am sooo jealous that you get to go to DisneyWorld! I’ve been there before, but before Universal came out with Harry Potter World. So Orlando was on our shortlist, but then husband got me knocked up and I can’t go any of the rides anymore! 🙁 Have a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@ThinkingOutLoud: Fellow NorCal bee here and we went to WDW for our honeymoon too! We went a few days after our wedding though.
What hotel are you staying in?
A few things to note:
-Make the most of the Magic Hours BUT do not visit those same parks on the Magic Hours days. For example; if Animal Kingdom has magic hours say tomorrow then tomorrow I am going to spend most of the day at any other park as the traffic is less and only visit Animal Kingdom during those Magic Hours. Seriously, it will save you so much time and headache.
-Make reservations for EVERYTHING. WDW is so anti-walk in for food it is crazy. Even if the restaurant is completely empty…no reservation no dining.
-Do a Character Breakfast. My favorite was the 1900 Park Fare breakfast with Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland and Darling Husband loved the O’Hana Family Breakfast with Lilo and Stitch.
-If taking a bus anyway around the area give yourself an hour to get to your destination. If you are able to take the monorail or boat (loved the boats) give yourself 30-40 minutes.

We are going to Disney World for our honeymoon too! Luckily though, we live in Florida, it’s only a 2 hour drive away! What hotel are ya’ll staying at?

We were actually in Epcot and Downtown Disney last weekend, cuz we have annual passes.
But I’d suggest checking out the Food and Wine Festival in Epcot, but go during the weekday when it’s not crowded.

@megz06: I think a cruise is next for us!! That sounds like it would have been a blast!
@MrsCaruso2be: Oh trust me I already bought the wedding ears and everything hahah! Yeah we definitely will! Thanks for the tips!
@mrspinesol: Thank god! I heard it was raining earlier this week!
@LilySarah: We made one reservation for my birthday (10/29) at Garden Grill I believe. 🙂 We’re staying in a time share 3 miles from the park! We mostly plan on making lunches and bringing them though lol.
@kes18: We’re doing epcot on tuesday, my actual birthday! I’m STOKED!! Can’t wait for all the FOOD LOL. We’re also doing the wild africa trek in animal kingdom!
@BrandNewBride: Was it amazing?! I need to see if a cruise is something that Darling Husband would ever be into…
@TammieRei: Thanks! Where are you planning on honeymooning at?!
@Treejewel19: How weird! lol. Thanks for the tips! I don’t think we’re doing magic extra hours or whatever because we’re not staying on disney property! But all that info is good to know! We only made 1 reservation and plan on eating stuff that we brought for the most part.
@raziel1687: You’re so lucky! We’re staying at a time share 3 miles away from the parks. 🙂

@ThinkingOutLoud: oh it rains almost every day here, for a good 3/4 of the year. I really don’t know why we’re named the Sunshine State! But during the winter it hardly rains!

CONGRATULATIONS on your recent Wedding…
Your Honeymoon sounds like a blast
Lol, even at our ages (over 50 & 60) Mr TTR & I like Disney
Fast Pass is the way to go…
And as stated there are some “tricks” to getting the most out of your visit (avoiding crowds). The worst crowds are at Magic Kindom by far… and the worst days are early in the week when people BEGIN their Disney Vacations… as they often go to MK first.
And as this park is ALL ABOUT THE KIDS (or the kid in each of us) it is most packed in the daytime… and less so as the day wears on (children gotta get their rest)
For more tips on MK check out this website = http://touringplans.com/disneyland/traffic-patterns
As for the other parks… We LOVE Animal Kingdom (especially the safari) and Epcot (such a good place for the “grown up” within… be sure and go relatively “empty” as you can eat & drink your way all around all day long)
Hope this helps,
PS… Cruising is great, that is what Mr TTR & I chose to do for our Honeymoon. Fabulous way to have fun, see great places, and be pampered. When the time comes for that Vacation let me know (lol, and Disney has some awesome Ships if you are Disney Fan)
