Haha! My dad is a machinist who sometimes works on old manual machines, and they are all made for right handed people. So he has to work backwards from the other side of the machine. My mom always rolls her eyes at this – she is a righty who just doesn’t understand our plight!
Yeah rings should come off whenever food is being prepped. I used to work in a kitchen and jewellry on the hands and arms was not allowed at work. Rings especially – they harbour so much bacteria, and would definitely trap the raw meat bacteria! I take mine off when I’m baking too, because sometimes dough and batter need to be kneaded. I don’t really care about the ring getting gunk on it (easily comes off in water), but I don’t want all the nasty germs spreading around.
