If you’re making major changes, and you’re confident that she understands you and sees the same vision you are having about what you want the fit to be, or even how your want the bustle to look, stick with your lady… you might find cheaper prices somewhere, but not equal confidence in communication.
If its simple basic things, like a hem, that wont’ affect the look of the dress… it might not be very polite to take back your dress from your seamstress, who has made time for you and your dress in her schedule, but it is certainly possible for you to let her know if you’ve found a better price and you’d like to take it elsewhere. If you go this route, She is within reason to charge you a small pinning fee to account for the lost time she spent on your fitting.
@artsyfartsyweirdo: Thanks for your reply! To clarify, it wasn’t actually a fitting just a consultation so no work has been started. But you did touch on some good points that I definitely agree with. I definitely feel secure in my decision and I trust her capabilities. I’m feeling just a little nervous about leaving my dress somewhere else. Eek! Lol 🙂
Trust your professionals!
Why didnt you have the alterations done at vera?
