My legs are on the thicker/muscular side to begin with, and now they’re looking flabby as well since I have put on about 20 lbs in the past 2 years (ugh). I’ve been going to the gym now for a few months, but I would like to pay more attenton to my legs. I enjoy lifting weights so am open to exercises that involve weights as well.
Any exercises you know of that will help slim and tone my legs vs. bulking them up?
Are squats good or bad? Do they even work the legs?

Squats, lunges and at the gym the abbducter and adducter machine and the one where you have to push this weighted thing upwards (leg press maybe?) And spinning if you can, for me the pain that was inflicted by the bycycle seat on my butt was not worth it lol

For my leg days I do leg press (165 lbs), squats (regular and wide stance at 75 lbs), leg extension (60 lbs), hamstring curl (60 lbs), hip abduction (100 lbs), standing calf raises (resistance 3), and seated calf raises (40 lbs). It’s physically impossible for women to bulk like men without years of training and steroids because we don’t have enough testosterone. And it doesn’t happen by accident, so don’t be scared to lift weights! Muscles burn fat and give you that lean look instead of the skinny fat look. But if you want to slim your legs, then you need to lower your overall body fat percentage. You can’t spot reduce, so make sure you do some cardio as well. I like high intensity interval training. It burns tons of calories in a short amount of time and is more effective at burning fat.
