I’m not a huge fan of the leggings thing but I’ve seen some women do it right with a long shirt or slouchy top/jersey. But if I can see your HOOHAA then game over!

I do however make a complete exception to the rule with Black Milk Leggings! Because holy shit these things are rad!

Okay I confess, I do! My favorite is called the J Crew Pixie Pant (they call it a pant!), it has a zipper and they’re really thick. I also have a pair that are leather on the front, and a knit material on the back.

The see through kind where I can totally see your bum though, not cool. Also not cool if you are literally wearing tights, where you can see the more opaque control top part up on the thigh. Like uhh if I can see that line of demarkation, whatever you’re wearing with those is toooo short! That’s the privacy line.

@Diamondgurl:  I’m in SoCal too and wear them all the time in a casual setting.  I’ve never worn them to work.  I think with a tunic, skirt or short dress they work great!  That way I can still wear those pieces when I don’t feel like showing off my legs.  Also, I love them with boots.  Most skinny jeans still kind of bunch around my knees with boots, but leggings look smooth.  I agree that they shouldn’t be see-through, but there are plenty that are well made.

@Stephville:  They’re pants. The best pants ever. I even bought dress pant leggings. And I always wear a long tank with leggings.

Guilty and I’m not even sorry! I only wear opaque leggings and I think they’re much more flattering to my body than most jeans. However I will say that I put on a few pounds and also moved to the desert so I haven’t worn them for a while but next winter by the time I’m back in shape they will be making a return to my fashion staples. I totally agree that some people should not be wearing them, but as long as you’re fit and they’re not see through, no problems.

@DreamingofDiamonds:  American Eagle has great jeggings – have you tried them?  They’re my second fav thing after leggings!

jeans+leggins = jeggings LOL

The last time I remember wearing leggings as pants for an activity other than horseback riding or yoga was the 5th grade. When everyone wore giant oversized t-shirts and leggings because it was the 90s.

@Stephville:  If you can bend over and still not see your bum and your leggings aren’t see through when stretched then fine by me.

Totally depends on the outfit as a whole. Personally, I would never wear them because I hate my thighs, lol.

As long as they are not see through and your behind is covered, I say go right ahead!

i don’t think they’re pants. especially since people wear them with short shirts and it’s just not attractive, i don’t care how thin and fit you are. if i can see your underwear through your pants, i have an issue. if you’re wearing leggings, cover your behind please and thank you. i wear them under dresses only.
