It’s only ok if you have a long shirt on that covers the tush. I say no to the whole leggings and UGGs look. It definitely looks like you forgot pants!

With a long shirt covering my butt cellulite and I am okay with it. (P.S. I don’t own any LOL)

I’m going to be 100% honest here and say I just bought jeggings, and I wear them all the freaking time.  So comfortable and they fit nicely under boots without the knee-bag I get in normal jeans.

BUT, if I can see your camel toe or underwear, then no, that’s not okay in public.  I saw a girl wearing black leggings, but I also could clearly see her red boyshort underwear through them because they were apparently a few sizes too small and the threads were just a little toooo thin to wear them.

I wear jeggings, but I see those as being different than leggings. I would NEVER be caught dead wearing leggings as pants. I am too afraid that they would be too sheer around the butt area.

Love leggings, (the thick kind).  But what I love even more are jeggings.  They look great with boots and I pretty much live in them in the winter.

i have a friend in nyc. she wanted to pay for a bilboard for a month that simply said “LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS” (she has a shitton of money..). but decided it was a bit rude.

there are very few people who can actually pull off leggings as pants (as long as the leggings are thick and not see-through at all). the rest of them? need a longer shirt/dress/tunic.

I see it all the time.  I just do not think leggings are pants.  Not ever.  Not even a little tiny bit.

I agree that leggings are not pants.  They are meant to be worn with a tunic – something that covers at least the crotch and butt.  As long as those reqs are met, leggings are fine.  But they just aren’t pants.  So many that are meant to be “opaque” are not in practice, and I see way more crack, vag, and balls (men can be guilty too) on any given night out than I want to lol.

I think regular leggings should not be worn as pants, but Lululemon pants are totally fine to wear as actual pants because they’re thicker (:

Leggings can be pants if you are working out (or are in working out clothes) and are a size 4 or smaller. If you don’t hit both, I recommend covering your bits.

I wear leggings as pants all of the time. I am tall, thin, and work out 6 days a week. When I wear them I am running/at the gym, or coming somewhere directly from the gym. Otherwise I wear real pants,

even if the wearer has a totally perfect butt, for some reason I can’t stand seeing it in leggings.

(I LOVE wearing leggings as pants, but as PPs have said, only with long shirts that cover up.)

Yeah, I’ll wear them with a pair of boots and long top or dress that matches in the winter…. but JUST leggings? NOPE. I hate seeing every detail of somebody’s butt…the jiggle, the curves, the crack. NOPE. Cant imagine myself showing that much. Yuck.
