We are looking to possibly purchase a replacement stone for my e-ring. All the diamonds from the main retailers (Blue Nile, James Allen, etc) are too pricey. Does anyone know of any sites that sell affordable legit diamonds?

To be honest, it’s pretty easy to find a cheap diamond. If by legit you only mean, legitimately a natural diamond. But any diamond that is actually “cheap” isn’t gonna be great, and isn’t worth the money saved IMO. If you’re going with a diamond/ already paying a diamond price, get a decent diamond.
You can get an affordable stone within your budget and still have it be good quality, although it might mean going down in size from what you’re envisioning. I’d suggest you spend some time at pricescope.com where you can learn about what’s most important as far as that goes (cliffsnote’s verson: it’s cut quality), and find tons of reputable vendors to buy from. Buying online will always get you more bang for your buck, although you probably already know that since you asked for online vendors. Good luck!

Honestly, if price is a concern, I would think seriously about looking into Moissanite. It’s lab created (although not as a diamond simulant because Moissanite has certain properties that exceed those of a diamond, and it actually exists on its own in nature.. in meteor craters although it is too small for gem use) and generally costs significantly less. You can’t tell the difference between diamond and Moissanite without a gemologist (I’ve seen jewelers who couldn’t tell the difference) and it actually is much more sparkly! It’s also a much safer bet than ending up with a diamond that has passed through the ‘wrong hands’. You really should go check it out : )
