Anyone a regular lemon water drinker? I am trying to stop drinking diet coke so I’m drinking a lot of lemon water & club soda instead. Anyone drink it regularly and if so have you seen any benefits? I heard it can help with skin problems and aid in weight loss.

@MrsDeLovely: I replaced coke with green and red tea and a bit of honey and for me it worked well.

I started drinking lemon water when I met my husband. He drinks it constantly. I haven’t noticed any difference in terms of skin. I have pretty bad acne that needs constant treatment. I never had to lose weight in my life, I’ve always been thin; however when I want to drop a few pounds just for my own comfort level, I don’t notice water making a difference.
I NEVER drink soda; it’s either Gatorade or lemon water.

Weird. .. My Dad (he’s 77) was telling me to freeze lemons and then score/scrape the rind into water or food, its an easy way to get great vitamens. He’s 77, he got that tidbit from his Dr. and based on my dad’s med records he’s going to live to over 100.. He runs 5miles a day and so I tend to listen to the old guy 😀

I started drinking sparkling water. Seriously made switching from soda to water way easier. I by foodlion/farmfresh brand for about 89 cents for 2 liters. They also have tons of flavors and no calories.

I heard gatoraide is high in sugar and can cause kidney stones. We water down our gatoraide.

I drink tons of just plain water. I suppose if you’re not a fan of plain water you can use lemon, mint, lime…whatever… to make it more appealing. Anytime you replace a beverage full of empty carbs &/or chemicals with plain old water, you’re doing something good for your body 🙂

I like just water on its own but I know some people dont like the taste of water on its own and need some sort of flavour. I havnt tried the lemon thing yet but I heard it is good for you

@MrsDeLovely: weirdly I just bought some lemons yesterday to do this exact thing! I’m training for a half marathon so need to increase my fluid intake and I normally just drink sugar free squash (cordial?) but I am drinking so much and it has just empty calories in it so I’ve opted for fresh lemons in plain water instead. Ok it’s not quite so sweet or tasty but its supposed to kick start your metabolism in the morning and for me its a refreshing change from plain water which I find way too boring. A friend of mine mixes it up by putting fresh oranges and limes in it too-and she leave the fruit in her glass/bottle and reuse it through the day and apparently it is still fresh and fruity after a few gos! Plus cheaper 😉

I’ve been drinking honey water lately (just hot water with a tablespoon or two of honey) just because I read that it would help with weightloss. I’ve been working out and eating 1200 cal/day and am pretty much down to just wanting to lose like 5-6 more pounds. I had plateaued for almost 2 months and was so frustrated. Started drinking honey water in the morning and before bed and my plateau ended a few days later! I have since then lost 4 pounds (still continuing diet & exercise). I also really like the taste – its just like hot tea! I’ve read that adding a little bit of cinnamon is really helpful and healthy too, but I haven’t tried that yet…

I saw no results from drinking lemon water except that ti makes you drink more water becuase your get thirsty. I would add some flavoring to your water if it is too plain.

I drink lemon water pretty regularly because my gym always has cold pitchers of it and I usually need to refill my water bottle while I’m there. I find it very refreshing but don’t really know anything about the health benefits.
ETA: I am a club soda addict! I love the taste and also makes me feel full when I haven’t eaten much. I have noticed definitely that drinking a lot of water or club soda helps with weightloss
I recently read something about honey water and cinnamon and was planning on giving it a try. Glad to hear its working for you! I’ve pretty much been plateaued for a few weeks with weightloss, even though I’ve noticed my clothes are fitting better. I’m going to have some honey water tonight before bed! Hopefully I’ll notice some changes!

Thanks for the tip… I started drinking it years ago because I had fainted from being dehydrated. So my doctor said to drink some gatorade. It is pretty high in sugar now that I read the bottle that’s at my desk now lol.. 34g in a 20 oz bottle!

Yeah, if you are going to drink something as sugary as Gatorade, water it down! I like to water down juice in general, though I use seltzer to do so. Mmm it’s like orangina. I cannot spell that word.
Also, you can get tea…I drink Nature’s Promise teas. They’re 80 calories a bottle, organic, and delicious.
