I am having a sort of destination (3 day) wedding on the Maine coast in May 2017. Yes, I know that’s a long way off, but we have already picked the (few) bridesmaid dresses, as we are afraid the colors may change next season. The bridesmaids are wearing dresses just at or above the knee. Are any of you wearing ankle length, tea length, or shorter wedding dresses. My wedding is in the evening, and i guess would be termed semi-formal. (I can’t figure out the difference between semi-formal and semi-casual). I definitely don’t want a long dress. However I am very confused about styles. I’d like to know what length of dresses you are wearing. By The Way, I’m 52 now.

There are some really cute tea length wedding dresses. I’m short and didn’t want to deal with lots of hemming and alterations, so my dresses are not floor length either. I don’t want to give too much away in case Fiance is looking over my shoulder!

I had a tea-length wedding gown. I really liked the look but I felt like the length kind of cut-off my legs & made me look shorter (I’m barely 5’3″ so shorter is no bueno!!). I had the seamstress alter the length to just below the knee, so kind of in between a tea-length and knee-length. Plus I added a peeking petticoat so that added a smidge of length as well. Honestly, when the dress arrived at first I was really worried because the length was horrible looking on me, but the end product was amazing!

You look gorgeous in your dress, and the length looks perfect on you. I really like the difference the alteration made and the petticoat is a wonderful addtionion. Thanks.
