Well, this is my second marriage. My first, we dated for 5 years and were engaged for a year and a half. Divorced after two years.
My current boyfriend and I have been dating almost 2 years (January) and we’ve been living together for a year (November) we have been talking about getting enaged and married and I think whenever the time is right, do it. You have to both feel ready and I think it just depends on the relationship and timing?

- Wedding: October 2013
A little less than three years. We started dating in April 2008, and he proposed in Feb. 2011. We had a 2.5-year engagement because we prioritized buying our house in March 2012 over our wedding. We married in Oct. 2013.

My husband and I started dating in September, 2004, when we were 14 and 15. (I knew all along, even at 14, that I would marry him someday.) We were together 10 years and 4 months when we got engaged in January, 2015, and our engagement was only 4 months long. It got to the point that our friends started to pester my husband about proposing to me, but I really think we got married when our relationship was ready and the time was right for us.

- Wedding: May 2016
Just over a year (living together for six months). We’ve had a long engagement and will be getting married a couple months after our third dating anniversary. I was on the younger side when we got engaged (23, she was 27) but I was amazed by how supportive and excited people were. One of those situations where we 100% knew it was the right thing to do, and apparently so did everyone around us 🙂

A little bit over 5 years – we met in college, and wanted to wait a little bit before making a commitment!

My fiancé and I met in Feb 2014 and started dating in May 2014. We were very close friends before we began dating, and were inseperable. We moved in together after 8 months of being together. He proposed in June of this year and we just bought a house….so we were together 13 months before we got engaged and both of our families are overjoyed.

We got engaged 6 months into our relationship, but agreed to a long engagement. We’ve been engaged now for 2 years and will be married this coming September. I did get a lot of grief from my friends for being engaged so soon, but I think it was more out of jealousy that I got a ring sooner than they did.
