I’m looking for opinions on choosing the length of my veil. My dress has a 7 foot train and I am absolutely in love with the cathedral veils but when I tried it on in the store it was still too short. I could special order a longer one (without trying it) but is that excessive? I also worry that it will be a huge expense for something I will only wear for the ceremony and photos. Did anyone have a long train and a short veil combo? Picture for reference. Thanks in advance!

I think the cathedral length looks great, I wouldnt bother getting a special custom one personally.

I agree that the cathedral length you have in your picture looks great

I think it would look better if it extended beyond the dress but it doesn’t look bad at all! Have you considered something shorter like a fingertip veil? Fwiw I have a cathedral veil and I have no idea where it stops :/

I’m having same problem my dress will have a 6ft train and I want it to existent past the train but I’m adding the length on I haven’t seen the dress with the big train. You can look for one that’s royal length I did find some on Etsy. I think it depends on the type of veil. If it has some sort of lace or beading details on the edge you need to have one that extends past the train. If you have one that’s just tulle no edging you could get away with the cathedral veil. I can’t tell from the picture if the pattern is on the veil or your dress. If it’s on the veil go longer.
