I think that I actually did relatively well. I didn’t “give up” something per se but I used lent as an opportunity to think about my overall behavior and I decided I would use it as a reminder to be more patient with people. I have a tendency to get very annoyed very fast when I think people are being stupid/inefficient and I don’t hide my feelings well! So… I tried to remember to take a breath, realize whatever it was wasn’t a big deal, and give the person a smile.

I certainly didn’t do 100% on it but I did do pretty well. especially in the grocery line. That was kind of a “hot button” for me and I think I kept my cool much better than ever before!

@Corgi – I really like that spin on the traditional “give up” promises.

I’ve been trying to be more patient (and calm – I tend to spaz about little things) in general, too. 🙂

I did pretty well. I didn’t slip up on Fridays. I tried to give up all alcohol and junk food (but I cheated on Sundays and at my shower). I feel a lot better now. Before Lent, I was feeling so horrible about my eating and I had all this guilt, but now that’s gone! I feel like my workouts are actually making a difference now, rather than just keeping me from gaining weight.

I gave up alcohol for the Lent season. I slipped up twice, just because I am so awful when it comes to get-togethers when everyone is drinking and I didn’t want to explain myself about 8 times why I couldn’t relax and have a beer.  However…I did great with fasting this season, much better than the past few years.   I can’t wait until Easter!

I gave up chocolate and the one slip was intentional, when Mother-In-Law served Father-In-Law chocolate cake for his bday. I had a small piece, but that was it! So proud of myself…I know that’s not the point, but Lent is hard!

I kind of got behind in my lenten promise:  To do daily reflections accompanied by a few readings, but I caught up..sort of.

@justlikeheaven- haha thanks. i think i’m a little nicer online than in real life. not that i’m not nice in real life…. but on the internet if someone bugs me i can just click away. when i’m in the grocery line and some chick argues 10 minutes over whether a box of cereal is 2.99 or 3.49 and then wants to write a CHECK? Its just about all I can do not just give her the .50 to get her butt moving out of my way. haha.
