So since the end of college (and particularly in the last few months), I’ve been putting on more weight than I would like and am really hoping to start getting back in better shape again like I used to be. Darling Husband and I play tennis each weekend and have been golfing too. We also both belong to a gym that we go to when he’s home (Thursday night – Sunday night).
But I have a hard time motivating myself to go to the gym during the week by myself plus I feel bad leaving our dog at home in her crate for longer. I wanted to find some good exercise DVDs I could do at home on the days I don’t go to the gym.
I’m thinking about starting the 30-day Shred but I’ve also heard good things about the Leslie Sansone home walking DVDs. Have any Bees used these? What did you think? What DVDs do you find to be the best (it seems like she has a TON)?

I love Leslie Sansone! I do her 3 mile walk. Very quick! I also get bad shin splints when walking outside, so doing it in my living room is awesome!

@Miss Tattoo: Are you talking about the “3 mile weight loss walk” DVD? There seem to be numerous ones that are 3 miles ….
Is that the only one you’ve tried or have you done multiple and found that to be the best?

I love Leslie Sansone – i have the 1-5mile, you can choose how far you want to go. She’s great, but i do get sort of sick of listening to her have the same conversations…lol. i guess that’s the same with any dvd.
I’ve done the WATP (walk away the pounds) DVD’s and the 30 Day Shred. WATP definitely gets your heart pumping, and it’s a workout that’s quite easy, only 3 different moves. 30 Day Shred is a little more intense.

@Mrs.KMM: Yeah, she has like a million of them. I have the 3 mile Power Walk with the weighted hand bands that I don’t use. It’s a pink DVD and it features walkers w ho have lost 100+ pounds walking. Wait…that might be the other one with the leg cables….lol
I have never bought them myself. My mom is a QVC queen and always orders them. She still has the original VHS tapes! I like this one because the first mile is 15 minutes and then her sister Mary comes in and does the speed walk for the second mile which I believe is 11 or 12 minutes, and then the last mile is 15 minutes. That second mile really gets your heart rate up there and get’s you sweating! Plus, the music is awesome. I’ll try to take a picture of it when I get off of work tonight.

She’s not my favorite instructor. I prefer Gin Miller and Ellen Barrett. I have over 3 dozen workout DVDs. The workouts are step-aerobics, pliates, circuit-training, ab workouts, and Core Fusion workouts. I choose based on my energy levels and schedule. I think you just need to find what appeals to you. I make exercise a daily habit and only skip when on vacations and holidays.
