@Kingler1016:  I’ve lurked around J.Crew for a while now. They run 30% off everything sales VERY often. Let’s say a dress is $250 – 30% = 175 which makes it right in your price range and still J.Crew. I think you should just watch out for those sales.

I guess this doesn’t really answer your question, but J.Crew bridesmaid dresses are REALLY popular, and I’m going to encourage my bridesmaids to look for them used on eBay or specific wedding resale sites. They’re way less than $200 used!

Ann Taylor has some that are similar. Not as cute IMO, but they go on sale way more often.

Dessy has dresses that are exactly like the J Crew ones. Also, Jim Hjelm gowns are much nicer and although the sticker price says like $350, when you actually by them from a bridal store the rate comes out to like $200. It’s crazy the difference between “sticker” and what you actually pay.

I second waiting for a sale–it happens all the time. Can you post a picture of what one you like?

@Kingler1016:  Unfortunately, those are the pricy ones! Even at 30% off, they’ll be around $250. I would check out eBay if I were you. They are lovely choices though and actually re-wearable.

The company was easy to work with. You call them and tell them what styles/sizes you want to try and they send you the sample dress to try on, and send them back, free shipping.

I didnt know how to send pics through pm.

Here you go:

Alfred Angelo, girl!  My bride was in the exact same bind.  She loved the silk chiffon floor-length, formal gowns at J. Crew but we had serious sticker shock.  We went to AA and found good options at a way cheaper pricepoint.  In my opinion, J. Crew has more elegant styles to offer, but there were enough classic dresses at AA to make it work and give the bridesmaids some choice in their selection.

Do you have a J. Crew outlet near you? I’ve worn two different J.Crew dresses and got both from outlets. I’ve actually been able to wear one of them a few times out and about too! 🙂

My cousin had us in J Crew for her wedding…at first I was miffed at the price BUT I’ve worn it 3 times since & have plans to wear it again. I was lucky in that I didn’t need alterations so my $200 dress is now $50 a wear (that’s how I swallowed it!). They were SO comfortable too…being trapped in a dress, fancy bra, spanks & heels for 12+ hours sucks a lot less when you’re comfortable. Nicole Miller has similar styles, check their clearance & outlets too. Good luck!

FYI jcrew has 20% off bridesmaids dresses right now. The code is LOVE if you order online.

Ann Taylor, but they have fewer floor length styles than Jcrew.  You can get some amazing deals on sale there.  Also check Nordstrom, they carry Donna Morgan silk chiffon dresses.
