- Wedding: November 2014 - White Pines, Bensenville, IL
Hi, Wedding Bees!
I’m brand new to the forum and I’m coming to you for help!
My fiance and I are not fancy people… at all really! We’re looking for something more rustic/outdoorsy but the issue is that we’re aiming for a fall wedding due to so many other weddings in 2014 (end of October/beg of Nov) so we can’t really have an actual outdoor wedding. We would LOVE to have our reception somewhere like Cantigny or The Arboretum but they’re just a touch out of our price range.
A friend from high school just had her reception at Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora which I like but my fiance isn’t sold on yet (which is weird since he’s a home brewer haha!)
Anyway. If you have any ideas of affordable, more casual and/or outdoorsy ideas, I would be SO appreciative! Thanks for your help in advance!!!

I am not from the area so I am not sure how far this is for you…but someone in my extended family owns Oak Hill which provides a beautiful place for rustic weddings. Check out their website at http://www.oakhillwedding.com/TheGrounds
I wish I lived in Illinois so that I could have my wedding there!

I’ve heard a lot about the Byron Colby Barn in Grayslake and The Millrose in Barrington. They are both fairly reasonably priced.

@b311scram: Try OakBrook Bath and Tennis Club!! We almost went with them for our wedding, but werent too crazy about the 2800 dollar rental fee for a sat night. If you have a Fri or Sat the rate is 1800
However they do have outside catering so that makes it easier to save on your large costs. Its gorgeous and totally private so you have the entire place to yourselves.

in the end because we’re in the city we did kitchen chicago, which is also awesome.
