OK drinking my monday morning coffee while on an early con call and I am surfing SMP and see this picture and just start drooling!!!
OMG I want to make the pearl ones. It would be so easy and so pretty BUT I am less than 8 weeks from my wedding and still have to finish my other projects.
So I thought I would share anyways – I thought they were fabulous – i believe these may be commercially done but would be so easy to replicate as a DIY with either styrofoam or even prettier satin covered christmas balls, glue and pearls

I LOOOVE THEM. Is there anyway to find them cheap, already done? Maybe a local craft fair, or someone on Etsy? That looks like a LOT of gluing, that I don’t think I’d ever be able to commit to…I’d do half of one, and say forget it haha….but, if youhave the patience…I’d do it, if you can’t find them cheap somewhere! So gorgeous.

Very pretty. Finish your other projects first and if you have time make these. Maybe it will encourage you to speed up the process 🙂

Ooooh, those are gorgeous! I’d say assess how much time you’ll need to finish your other projects and add the time it’ll take for these. You don’t want a bunch of half-done or sloppily finished stuff if you run out of time. They are absolutely gorgeous, so if you can do them and it fits your theme I say go for it!

OK I voted for your first option, but without knowing what your other projects are I can’t really say. I would save this for last if you really want them and have enough time. Don’t stress yourself out or become sleep deprived! Even though I voted for the first one, really think about if you have the time. I find that I always underestimate the amount of time it takes me to make things.
Might be pretty easy to make if you cover the ball in glue and roll it around in the pearls. Or maybe even easier to find pins that have pearl heads.

Actually i am sitting here thinking this through and I bet I could use glass ornaments underneath – spread a heavy layer of silicone adhesive and then use pearls
Kind of like the glasses that I do http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/quick-fun-diy-project-that-makes-a-great-gift-encrusted-wine-glasses
Hmmmmm – Fiance is going to kill me but if I get all of the other projects done first . . .

OK projects I have to finish
42 freaking paper hydrangea pomanders – we have 17 done and do have friends that are helping us with these – they take about 1 hour per ball so we are looking at 4 ppl making them so just over 6 hours more if they help again (which they really want to)
I have to finish the organza flowers for the gift bags – I have about 12 hours of work left on this project
I have to print out the signs for the photobooth and glue the handles on – that is about 3-4 hours
I have to print the inside and outside of the menus – Fiance is hand punching the vellum edges so that is a bigger project for him then me – so probably 4 hours for me and 12 for him then 2 hours to assemble
We were going to make these but I do not like how they are coming out – we have friends that would help so would be a 6 hour group effort but I found out where to order them online – trying to convince Fiance it is worth it to order
I have to finish the tags for the escort cards – that will not take but an hour or two – have it mocked up – just have to wait for RSVP
I have to finish the table numbers and signage for the ceremony/reception – they are done just need to be printed on cardstock so 1 hour
I need to put thank you notes in the favors – 2 hours max
Finish the magentic poetry kits – mostly this is Fiance project – I designed he is graciously executing – but still only about 4-6 hours to finish
I think it is doable but need to get finished with something lol – too much all going at once

I’d do them if possible but at some point you just need to relax so you’re not exhausted for the wedding itself! Then again, you can rest on your honeymoon depending on where you’re going!

How would you use them. I have that exact ornament. I bought it at Xmas from target
