- Wedding: October 2012
On June 28 we hit our 100 day countdown mark! And coincidentally it was when we had scheduled our engagement photo shoot which took place at Long Beach, NY.
I had to take a personal day from my job (I think planning a wedding is a full-time job!) to ensure I looked well-rested for the casual click-away session. I decided to book a beauty consultation trial with a hair and makeup team I am considering. They did a wonderful job! Diana Cappolla gave me beautiful lashes that give every bride that enhanced, special occasion look. She definitely knows how to balance out dramatic makeup so that it is never “too much.” Tara Aragona was brilliant – she saw my super-straight Asian locks and knew to give me tight curls that would eventually loosen into soft volume by the time I got to the beach.
Brian from Thomas Paul Photography met us at the boardwalk. My fiance Adam and I definitely crack up when we see cheesey engagement photos (no offense to anyone!), the ones that look too intense or dramatic, with the bride and groom-to-be in matching khakis and white shirts – it just isn’t us! We told Brian this and he definitely took it into consideration. From what I saw on his camera after each scenery change, the photos looked so artistic, natural and beautiful – and he does a fantastic job of using lighting and beautiful background. All in all, thanks also to the sunshine that broke a streak of stormy NY weather, it was a beauitful bridal day!
