My finger is smaller,  size 5, but you can imagine. Center stone is just over 1 carat diamond, not sure the ctw. She’ll love it!

That’s so exciting! My finger is a size 4 haha but I figured I’d still share! My center stone is a 1.5 karat cushion cut diamond. I believe the clarity is VVS1.

I wear a size 7 and I have a 1.35 carat center with an additional 3/4 ft in the pave setting and wedding band.  I love it!

Mine is a size 5. TCW 1.6. As she has bigger hands you may want to consider a split band (if you think she’ll like it) as I find it gives better finger coverage.

groom2be86 :  So exciting. Just keep in mind that a well-made halo will be about $2k for just the setting (no center stone). If you have a modest budget, you may be better off putting most of your budget into the main stone and upgrading the setting later. After you select a perfect diamond (GIA, AGS or HRD certified — go over to BrianGavin, Whiteflash, GoodOldGold, or JamesAllen), here are a few pointers.

  • Low or high set diamond? (left low Tacori setting, right high generic setting). A low set center stone will make the ring easier to wear. The red line is the girdle of the stone.
  • Flat or Tilt of Halo? A lot of halos have halo stones that are vertical relative to the axis of the ring. This tends to make the setting mostly metal from a side view (right pic below versus bottom pic). If you specify that the halo stones are tipped about 20 degrees off level, the side view is much nicer (bottom pic).
  • Airline or No? The center can have a gap between the diamond and the halo (called an airline), see pic below. Most of the Bees rings above have little to no airline.
  • Cathedral or No? The upper pictures also show a cathedral (left) and non-cathedral (right). If you look at the construction of the non-cathedral on the right, the head only contacts the band at one point (bad). For a non-cathedral, the picture below is shows a much better construction with the head making contact at 4 points.

This kind of pave work is incredibly hard to do well. Stick with a high-end stock setting (Tacori, Verragio, CVB Inspired Design) or have it custom made by a Bee-known entity. David Klass is a favorite around the Bee for his lovely work and great prices.

groom2be86 :  Thank you so much!! The center is .81 carats and I have the white gold pave halo (SKU 17305W14).. This is one of their more delicate halos, the small diamonds in the halo add about 1.5 mm to each side of the diamond. I do know they have a chunkier halo that adds about 2.5 mm on each side, but I love a more delicate halo!! Let me know if you have any more questions!
