This is my inspiration. The original quote I got for a 3 tier (6/8/10″) was over $500, but I got it down to about $350 by nixing the sugar flowers and providing loose flowers from the florist. Also nixed the cake stand rental and will provide my own.

Hate fondant so we are going with a lovely rustic, rough buttercream look instead but with a champagne gold colour similar to the photo.

Our cake should feed at least 100, but we only have 60 guests so we will either save the top tier for our anniversary (which I think is kind of weird), or save it for a day after afternoon tea.

We will be cutting the cake, then the restaurant staff will bring it to the kitchen to be cut and plated or boxed up for takeaway.

@SagHarborBride yes our ruffle cake was fake and they can design it from your inspiration cake … looks beautiful, no one knew until we told them
