If that’s your only flavor then I’m going to have to say no, sorry 🙁 A lot of people don’t share your love for coconut cake, me included, and to only offer that and then to only have cookies isn’t the best option. It’s just kind of rude. People want to eat your wedding cake and you should at least have another flavor for guests that won’t eat coconut. Could you provide a second flavor?

I’d at least have a second option if anything.  I absolutely hate coconut and I know that a lot of others feel the same (at least the majority of people I know).  Then have cookies as another back-up.

It’s a special cake for you guys, do the coconut! It will be memorable and sounds delicious. I can’t tell you how many plain ol vanilla cakes I’ve had at weddings and its just like I can eat this anyday!

If you are really worried you can do a layer in coconut and another later in a plain flavor!

I think coconut is one of those things that you either love or you hate.  Me being in the hate category, I say you might want to give another option.  How about a groom’s cake in a more “normal” flavor, like chocolate?

I’m going to have to agree to have a second flavor of cake because I absolutely hate coconut and I know a lot of people that feel the same.  You could just do a simple flavor like chocolate or vanilla.

    I hate coconut too 🙁

Could you maybe have one tier be coconut and another tier be something more commonly liked?

I think you should have the coconut cake because you have the cookies for those that dont like it.  If the cake is multitier than you could have the other tiers in more popular flavors like chocolate, vanilla, or red velvet.

I think: just have whatever cake you want.  YUM!  By the way!

@Misslizzy: I love vanilla.  Maybe marble?

I really do want you to keep your coconut but just offer another flavor, as well, like everyone mentioned. I am not a fan of the traditional white cakes like PPs have said so we are doing an almond cake as one of our 3 flavors and its soooooo good! It’s a good alternative to a vanilla cake.

Marble cakes are good, chocolate, vanilla with a chocolate or fruit flavored icing, red velvet, etc.

I had a coconut cake, so I say go for it!  The cake flavors were actually chocolate with banana cream, and vanilla with raspberry, but it was frosted with buttercream and decorated with coconut flakes.  The cake was gone, there was none left to take home!
