So I’ve finally booked my cake and I’m soooooo excited because I got such a good deal. My coworker’s husband red velvet cakes are to die for. Fiance & I are addicted to it and have compared others to it and so far still our favorite. So I called her up and asked her if they would do the cake for our wedding. I told her that I wanted the smallest size cake they offered (10 inches) and 5 doz cupcakes per different flavor (chocolate, carrot & red velvet). We are having between 220-240 guests so that nummber sounds about right to us. This doesn’t include the other 3 desserts our cater is providing ( cheesecake, guava duff, and pound cake) or our candy buffet. Anywhoo getting a bit off track. Soooooooo I’m getting this all for the loverly price of $190!! The cake with be very simple on a tier with the cupcakes under it and our monogram topper (my coworker, the wife, told me to just have it made for a event rather then a wedding). I am so happy that we are going with them because we are very sure everything will taste great and because they are pretty much working for home the price is great. This is the insipration of what we’re doing except every othe tier will be rotated (diamond shape).

That’ll be perfect!!! My uncle had a cupcake wedding cake.. it’s the only wedding detail I remember 10 years on! So I’m sure it’ll be just as memorable and scrumptious for your guests too!

Sounds like a great deal! I think I’d be on a bit of a sugar high from all your dessert options but only because they all sound delicious!

MrsYoshida: Thanks yea I feel in love with the idea a while back and knew that I had to have it lol. Also with so much ppl not eating or liking a flavor I wanted options and cupcakes was just easier. Also I wanted more options because I love dessert and some people might not want cake.
ms-tea: Thanks yea alot of sweets but alot of good heavy food also and there will be take out plates so they could take a treat home with them if they choose. The favors are sweet too….:$ they are sample size Bahamian treats that will be in a little box. They are soooooo good. Plus after a good heavy meal they will need some sugar to get their blood pumping and bodies moving to dance the night away!!

wow, what a deal! I baked cupcakes for a friend’s wedding and charged $400 for around 200 cupcakes (and still ended up breaking just about even when I factored in supply costs).

WOW $190, that’s a great deal!!!
I wish my vendor quote me the same haha
I’m doing cupcake tower too, my vendor told me I only need to order 110 cupcake for roughly 200 guests mainly because I have 10 courses meal included + two dessert included already.
I did the math, including delivery, setup, stand rental, small tier cake. It will cost me $460. $500+ if I want foundant cupcake design.

Stephnrice: Well he charges $10/doz. for the cupcakes, and the cake is so simple …and including the fact that it wouldn’t be a “wedding cake” just a beautiful simple red velvet cake with cream cheese icing and very little piping it will cost $40.
gpiglet: Yea I was toooo excited when she told me the price. We are doing the pick up tho. My dad’s friends who will be setting up our venue will be setting everything up (with the guidence of my detailed notes lol). The tier will be borrowed from my cousin who has her own party rental store. I would go less but honestly we are food/dessert people and rather have more then not enough. There will be take home plates for the over flow so I’m not worried about that. My little brother alone went back 3 different times (each time with 2 different cupcake) to the dessert bar at our cousin wedding 3 weeks ago and alot of guest went for 2nd & 3rd.
