Has anyone ever framed an invitation from a wedding? I’m trying to decide on how fancy to go on my wedding invitations, and my mothers argument is “well some people like to frame them”. In my life I’ve never once seen a framed invitation anywhere. I’ve seen things like this scrapbooked on occasion, but really? Framed? I know I’ll never frame an invitation… I have one on my fridge from my bff’s wedding last year, but it’s mixed in with bills and pictures and other random fridge stuff.
Am I going crazy?

I have never seen one framed either. That might be an older custom.

Never seen invites framed… but I have kept an invite from 2007… it was the most beautiful invite I had ever seen. Mine will be quite similar 🙂

I have never seen one framed either! We just throw ours away! 😮

Does she mean your guests will want to frame them or you will? I know quite a few people who have framed their own invitations and I plan on framing mine. Maybe it’s a regional thing?
I usually keep invitations of friends up on my memo board for a few months and then stick them in my scrapbook. I’ve never heard of someone framing an invitation that wasn’t their own.
Regardless, I would pick something that is your style and reflects the formality of the wedding.

I’ve never heard of or seen a framed wedding invitation. Maybe the person whose wedding it IS or their parents would frame it, but a guest? Hate to say it but in the trash it goes after the wedding.

Honestly I have tossed out every invite to a wedding I received. I have tried to keep a few but when I am doing my spring cleaning I usually toss them.

I’ve never seen anyone frame invitations, except their own. But it sure would be a compliment if someone did! We do keep invitations we receive from friends up on our fridge for quite a while though.
I vote you go as fancy or casual as you like with your invitations, the reality is that most people will probably throw them away sooner or later, so that shouldn’t be too big of a consideration. But now you have a present idea for your mom, you can frame an invite and give it to her!

I have never framed one although we have kept them as inspiration to be used at a later date. Most get trashed though. I can only see my mom or me scrapbooking but still def not framing.

I have seen a framed invite BUT it was a friend who made his own wedding invites who happened to be a VERY famous comic artist and he framed the original so that WOULD be a reason to frame it other than that I’ve never seen it. Scrapbooks yes, framing no. I could see people framing their own or maybe parents doing it.

Maybe she wants to frame it! Honestly people put soo much effort into invites and I bet 90% of people toss them right away. I totally understand it sets the mood for the wedding, creates the theme, vibe, colors, formality etc. but we bought simple DIY sets from AC Moore & printed them at Kinkos. They look very nice, match everything but didn’t break the bank. Sure I’d love to have a letterpressed collection but I’d rather spend that $$ on food!
Its all about what’s important to you.

My parents have theirs framed, but they are the only ones I have ever seen. I don’t think I would frame ours, even though I made them and love them.

I plan on having our wedding invitation framed. (But I think it would be odd for our guests to frame it!) My mother has a great fame set for her wedding invitation and it’s beautiful.
