One more (sorry this isn’t a grammatical error and sorry for having so many posts): I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE (just for you 2ndtimeacharm) the term “wifey”. I hate Soulja Boy for making that term popular (among all the other reasons I hate him). I’m sorry if any of you use wifey, its just something that grates on me. Maybe I should have picked a differnt major.

@calikary: And that’s why I chose to go into a different field with my degree.

@AprilJo2011: “Could/would/should of” is the WORST. Ew.

I get really bothered by people who say “I could care less.” That means you care. If you don’t care at all then you “couldn’t care less.”

You and you’re (and UR)

All made up abbreviations/text speak. OMG! I went 2 da store 4 sum (IT HURT ME TO TYPE JUST THAT MUCH!)

Ok I’m REALLY sorry but grammar kills me.

A finace is a male a fiancee is a female; they are not the same thing. I know those need accents but I don’t know how to type them.

@calikary:I was going to be a teacher and then I read some of the papers kids write now adays. Now I do marketing and community outreach for a non-profit. At least the idiots where I work don’t write anything :).

@Corilee13: I’ll add to that “hubby,” “preggo,” and “preggers.”

Nothing intrinsically wrong wtih playful abbreviations; I just happen to hate these particular examples.

I breifly read through the responses so I’m not sure if this was said..but I hate when people don’t capitalize proper nouns….ugh it can be soooo important.

i.e;

Oh my goodness, can you help your uncle Jack off the horse?

or

Oh my goodness, can you help your uncle jack off the horse?

LOL, I know that was a ridiculous example but you see how it can be quite confusing.

Okay fine, so maybe I only responded because I heard this awesome joke yesterday…..just maybe.

@mightywombat:No there is nothing wrong with getting playful with the things you say. I think “wifey bothers” me so much because I had to listen to that song “Kiss Me Through The Phone” about 50 times a day because someone I worked with loved it. That and “Womanizer”. Ugh I wanted to shoot her. However, this story had a happy ending: she got fired and I stayed out of prison. Preggers bothers me to as well as po po instead of police.

@littlegraykitten: I have a pet Alot! My Fiance gave it to me for our anniversary. Here he is drinking “alot” of coffee and watching “alot” of of TV. He also enjoys reading Weddingbee “alot!”

I have a ton of pet peeves regarding grammar, most of which have already been listed.

@Aure: He seems to have Alot of fur as well!

I am totally in love with the number of grammarians on the bee 🙂

This thread made my day. Most of these are awful but the could of/should of is the worst.

*whispers*

I don’t use serial commas unless there is a need to clarify any ambiguity. That is the way we do it in England.
