so i bought the craziest thing today…a gym membership!! i decided that if i go during my lunch breaks then i have no other choice. just kidding. its something I’ve been talking about getting for a while and what other inspiration than pms bloat? i know, tmi. but when my pants dont fit i get upset and feel like working out. so now im bloated and feeling blah and i know once i get to my target weight i’ll be more confident and comfortable.
and what did mr. d have to say about this when i got home and told him? he wasn’t too thrilled but when i told him how much i paid AND what it includes he wasn’t upset anymore. the gym i joined waived registration, last month fees, and gave me a complimentary training session with a trainer so i know what I’m doing and gave me trial memberships for glenn and a bridesmaid! they saved me about half the normal set up costs and out the door i only paid 60 bucks and could have started working out right then had i had time. the trainer and i meet tomorrow at 1 so i can get started, i know once i get started that i can get in there on my own and get pumping. im pretty excited and i know it seems weird. but i know if i can get to my target weight before thanksgiving then i wont feel so bad eating half a turkey and a whole pan of stuffing and 3 pies lol. ill just work it off after! pumpkin pie here i come!
Now im really doing all this to make myself feel better and help break old lazy couch loungin habits. what was your inspiration for getting in shape?

Thats great, I have a gym membership and it is so worth it. My inspiration for losing weight at first was to look good for SO and I trip to Jamaica. Afterwards SO told me how great I looked and I have been working out ever since. Once you find your inspiration or a goal it will become easier for you to work out, until it becomes part of life. Good Luck.

Awesome! I joined a gym last year while I was looking for a job after graduation. I didn’t have much to do during the days (besides job hunting) and I didn’t want to start doing things that cost money all the time – although I got sucked into a ton of personal training sessions, but I don’t regret it at all! As my trainer told me, people are so willing to spend money on fixing up their cars or buying fancy electronics, but our bodies are machines that need work too! A gym membership is a great start – as soon as you get into the habit and really start feeling good from your workouts, it will be hard to stop because you will feel gross if you don’t go!

Good for you! My FH and I just joined the gym together and go 4x a week. We were going 4x a week from Feb-June, but had to cancel our membership when we moved due to him getting a new job. I was so excited when we were able to go and join a new one. The gym we joined had just opened so the prices were low and if you did a 6 month of 12 month contract, they waived joining fees. So we did a 6 month and we only pay about $12 a piece a month. WOO!
I really want to look my best for our engagement pictures and wedding and also our honeymoon in Hawaii, so that’s my motivation. Plus, my FH is really big into the gym (he use to train to be in body building).. so going with him helps push me!

I am planning to join a gym on my husband’s membership soon.
My goal was to be able to work out regularly (running, 30 day shred) at home, so that I could justify spending money on a membership knowing that I would and could make it worth the money.
Good luck with your plan! I have a longs ways to go with how much weight i gained from the wedding!

i figured since my break is an hour and to start i can really only handle 30 minutes ill go on my breaks! my goal is to have to take my dress in lol. or at least get my BMI down.. im 29% right now and if i can get to 20 ill be happy. im not going to get all toned and buff but make improvements to my mommy tummy and arms and thighs. im not un happy with my body all the time but there are days when i go and look at clothes and the ones on clearance are for the twigs and im more of a branch. not quite a trunk but a branch…my trainer said as long as i keep at it and since we have a year till the wedding that my goal is very do-able!
