As many of you probably already know from a few of my other posts, my best friend is overdue with her first baby by about a week. Before you ask: Induction is a last resort. She is having a lovely and sweet home birth with a very good midwife. However, if she goes one more week, they will have to induce for safety reasons. Which is something neither of us want to see happen. She’s known from before they started TTC that she wanted to have a home birth. It’s very important to her.
So I thought I’d ask the hive (specifically you Momma-Bees) – what did you do to help naturally induce labor? I know things like going for walks, or just being as active as possible, eating spicy foods, and having sex helps.
Any other suggestions? We’re just are all ready to get this show on the road! 🙂
I dont think theres many things to do to help. I tried ALL of the things you listed up there and still had to be induced. my lil girl was NOT coming out on her own haha. Like @mrstilly said… they come when they’re ready!
I just wanted to say that my sister really wanted a home birth as well, it was extremely important to her. She ended up having to be induced, and she isn’t really devastated or anything, just happy my little niece came out safely 🙂
ABSOLUTELY to the raspberry leaf tea!! It’s great for inducing labour hahah my best friend and step mom have used is successuly 3 times between them!!! It’s also great for anything period related… cramps, bloating espcecially!!! She can get it at any natural food store 🙂
@jilian & @cecullaton: She hasn’t said anything about red raspberry leaf tea, so I don’t think her midwife is having her take it. But I know I have some good organic red raspberry leaf tea, so I think I shall take it over to her!
