I use ebay a lot.  It really depends on what you’re looking for.  But I have found killer deals.  My existing ring would cost x5 times more to replace if I lost it tomorrow.  And that’s through my jewelers wholesaler, no appraisal, just a question to him.  Its the biggest and best find I’ve ever gotten.  You have to make sure they have a return policy, no negative feedback and have been around a while. They are out there-you just have to scour the net 😉  There are also really good deals to be had on diamondbistro.

I saw a ring online which I loved and the specs were a LOT better than the jeweller that my BF had been talking to about my e ring. He emailed them the details (we even screenshot the GIA certificate in case they asked) and they came back straight away with a ‘deal’ that matched for £2000 cheaper than what was shown on their online site! No proof or reference to which site we saw the other ring on!!!! They even under cut the other ring by £200! Now the other ring was from Adimor and if shipped to the uk would have incurred tax and duties but they matched anyway without question!

Ive seen the GIA cert but waiting for the ring/proposal and I’ll get it certified for insurance so I’ll let you know how it goes!!! Deals to be had though I think!

My engagement set was pre-owned and he purchased the two rings for under $1800. Center stone is a heart shaped diamond in the 3/4ct range IDK what the tcw is. I haven’t seen this style online or IRL so I am thinking it was a customer job that didn’t follow through. We went back to the same store and I got a 3+ ct pale blue topaz pear in yellow gold for my Valentine’s Day present marked down to $139 and then they gave an additional discount at register bringing it down to $119 😲I was like “somebody come on and take this money!” LOL I really enjoy thrift bragging and fun thread
