Just attended a wedding last night and it got me really excited for our music! We have already started talking about what we want but haven’t finalized anything yet. I know there are TONS of other boards on here for it but figured I’d start a new one where they are all included! I’m looking for (a highlight of) your songs for your big day! Ceremony, reception entrance, first dance, father daughter/mother son, cake cutting, favorites you requested for the reception, ect!
We have a pretty good list but are stumped on reception entrance songs! We want to do a different song for each person/group entering… so any suggestions for what you used/plan to use for then would be great too!

Just some highlights.. Our weddings in 3.75 weeks!
“grow old with you” by adam sandler-but will be sang much better by our guitarist as we leave the ceremony
“A thousand years” by christina perry sang by a family member during our ceremony. We are cutting it down to 2 mins 45 seconds and only after I picked the song did I realize how the lyrics are for Twilight and now everyone will think of vampires at the ceremony- oh well!
“Thinking out loud” by ed sheerhan for our first dance. We we have been taking lessons for over a year now and cannot wait to pull off our dance at the reception! (Fingers crossed)
reception entrance “marry you” bruno mars
i cant wait! Even if not one of my guests likes or appreciates our music selections, i dont care. It was so fun to pull up the songs on youtube and find the ones that “fit us” best 🙂

The wedding party and my husband walked down to a string quartet cover of “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz
I walked down to a string quartet cover of “Lucky” by Colbie Caillat
Our recessional was “I Love You Will Still Sound the Same” by Oh Honey
Our reception entrance song was “On Top of the World” by Imagine Dragons
Our first dance was “You Belong to Me” by Jason Wade
The father-daughter dance was “Little Miss Magic” by Jimmy Buffet
Our cake cutting song was an instrumental verison of “Still Alive” from the video game portal. I don’t know if any of our guests got the reference but my husband and I kept giggling to ourselves while cutting the cake.

Love all of these ideas!!!! Keep them coming!
As of now, our ideas are:
Groom & groomsmen: string quartet version of wonderful tonight
Trying to decide between a string quartet version of “can’t help falling in love” or “I won’t give up” for myself, will probably use the other I don’t choose for the bridesmaids and everyone else
Recessional I really love the idea of using ” you make my dreams come true”..haven’t found anything else yet that I love as much
I wanted my dad to pick our dance song, but he isn’t able to because of health problems, so if we are even able to do a dance, I will probably go with ” I loved her first” because it makes me bawl like a baby
Cake cutting song will be “sugar” by maroon 5 because I love it so, so much
Still trying to figure out entrance songs and I have a million songs I want played at the reception so I probably have to narrow that down haha

- Wedding: April 2016 - Ed Oliver Golf Club, Wilmington, DE
We were married in a Church, so our ceremony music was all hymns..
All of our bridesmaids/groomsmen pairs picked songs to walk into, so that would take forever to list, but it was cute!
Bride & Groom Entrance.. “let’s get married” jagged edge with run dmc
First Dance.. “then” brad paisley
Bride/Father.. “my little girl” tim mcgraw
Groom/Mother .. “my wish” rascal flatts (performed by his sister)
Garter .. “pony” ginuwine .. i had to .. and he made it worth it, hahaha
Cake Cutting.. “grow old with you” adam sandler
Last Dance .. “just another day in paradise” phil vassar
* We are obviously country fans.. but we kept it to these dances, and didn’t force it on the entire reception 🙂

Quick Q: Do we NEED to change songs for the bride? Our aisle is so short that people wont get to hear much of the song if it is just for me… was thinking of using it for the whole processional. Weird? Thoughts? Ideas? Open to feedback!

clarebeemarried : I’m using one song for the entire processional. I love the instrumental version of Turning Page by Sleeping At Last. So we are going to use that song for the entire processional, no song changes when I enter or anything 🙂
