Today I woke up with a different outlook on things. I keep thinking about how LUCKY I am to have an amazing SO who loves me. We’re lucky that we actually have someone to wait for! Right? We’re no longer waiting for find the right one!
I spend so much time being jealous of others for getting engaged that I forget that I probably have single friends jealous of my relationship.
Today, we should all spend the day happy we’ve found the one we want to marry!
(I hope I can keep this feeling up. We’ll see how I’m doing tomorrow lol)

🙂 I’m glad I saw this, it puts things into perspective. Yesterday, I found out a couple I know (but am not close to) got engaged, and my first reaction was a pang of jealousy! Then I was happy for them and made small talk about the upcoming wedding. Then I just felt terrible. Why am I like this? How did I let it get to the point where I compare my relationship to someone elses? Why does it make me feel like he loves me less just because other people get engaged faster?
I have a boyfriend that I love. We live together, and beyond the talk he has made gestures that imply he wants to spend his life with me. We have a GREAT relationship, and I need to focus less on wanting him to marry me and focus more on being a better partner and showing him I’m patient. Marrying me is something I want him to do… but I know relationships are better if both people are asking what THEY can do for their partner rather than what their partner can do for them. I should concentrate now on further proving to him that I have the patience, love, affection, and perseverence to embark on a life-long relationship, and the rest will follow naturally in time (I hope).

@memo: You are so right this is totally the attitude to have! I was actually thinking the other day that it wasn’t that long ago that I was pining away for a relationship as great as the one I have now!

The other day a guy acquaintance of ours (who’s kind of a man-slut lol) said he wants to have what me and my SO have… eventually haha That kind of made me feel good lol

It always seems like we want what we don’t have! When we’re married will we be jealous of those who are singe? I hope not! lol

Woohoo! I love these posts. I feel like I’ve seen a lot of grumpy posts and comments lately so this is very refreshing!Hooray for having awesome relationships 🙂
@Kat_Kit2000: YES! That is the best! Right up there when they say “your SO is a lucky man”.

@sleepingbeauty88: Haha whenever people say my SO is lucky I always respond with “I’m the lucky one. He’s the best!”

@memo: LOL. I should probably respond like that, but I’m a sarcasm monger. My usual response is “I know” with a cocked head and heavy eyelash batting.
