These threads go around from time to time, and getting away from the frustrating parts of pet ownership (like other kids not knowing how to interact with dogs) I thought it would be a good break to show off our pets and tell a little something about them. So let’s see your pets, what are their names and what’s something you love about them?
I’ll start 🙂 We’ve got a big family, me, my husband, our 5 year old daughter, 2 1yo dogs and 2 beta fish 🙂 I’ll just show the dogs though!
First up is Miss Bella. When we got her the poor thing was 3 months old sleeping out in a dog house in the middle of February, all the pups huddled in the dog house sleeping on top of eachother to keep warm. She was in such rough shape one of her rib cages was poking out like it had been broken and she couldn’t walk longer than a few steps without laying down. This went on for a good month or two before she got better. She’s the most lovable goofy pup you will ever meet. She’s so much fun and the biggest sweetheart. I’ve never met a dog as lovable as she is! She’s a black lab/tickhound/boxer mix. You only really see the lab and hound in her so we just say she’s lab/hound
Next up is Buddy, our 1yo German Sheppherd. We got him from a German Sheppherd rescue shelter. No info on his background other than they rescued him from a kill shelter. He’s such a fast learner and so funny. He’s claimed me as his, any time I try to give Bella attention, Buddy likes to jump in my face and lick me. We’ve had him about 2 months and he’s proven to be a really good dog. House training him was pretty difficult though lol. The day we got him, I stopped by Big Lots to get him a collar (I’d gotten a collar but was expecting to get a girl dog, none of the girl dogs got along with Bella so we got the dog who did). I get out the car and without thinking about it Buddy jumps out the car. He took off running down the strip mall to the end. I start calling him and he stops for a minute until I get close and darts off again. Eventually two people on the other end of the strip mall catch him, he goes right up to them and stops. I get there and get ahold of him by the collar and start walking him back to the car which my car door is still wide open in the parking lot. He slipped out the collar 1/2 way to the car and darts away again, running into Staples! I had to chase him into staples to get him! I bet that was a sight! But he’s such a good dog and has grown very attached to me 🙂 Here’s Buddy 🙂
So let’s see your pets, cats, dogs, fish, birds, snakes… Let’s meet the pets!

The older of our two dogs, Walter, is a big Plott Hound-Lab mix. He’s super energetic and he tends to vascillate between two extremes…either he’s really excited about something being his favorite. thing. ever. and he’s over-the-edge ecstatic, or something is the worst thing ever and he curls up in a ball and waits for death to descend. This picture is him as a teen, so I think he’s a little bigger now.
And this is April, our smaller Pitt-Jack Russell mix. She looks a lot like wishbone, but with a little pitt thrown in, and she has two different colored eyes. She’s kind of a spaz but very clever compared with her big brother, in a mischievious way. She’s quite the little trickster.
“We brought you a stick!”

I love these threads!
This one is Molly, she is 10 years old, Blenheim Cavalier King Charles. She is very friendly, loves people and is intimidated by our younger dog, and won’t get into the dog bed if the other dog is in the one next to it. She is deaf now, although it used to be selective hearing.
This one is Lady, she is 6 years old, she is the dominant one. She can be very aggressive, and if strangers come to the door or we have workmen around she will jump up, bark and sometimes nip. But she loves cuddles, and we have taught her to give hugs, we will tap our shoulders and she will put her paws on them. She is the only one who gets on our beds as Molly is unable to jump that high anymore. She insists on going under the covers to get warm, especially in Winter, and snores like crazy. But she is the baby of the family, and I love her to pieces. She is a tricolour Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

@anemonie: Haha! Love that stick picture!
Here’s two of Daisy. She’s a lab/pit mix. When we adopted her at 9months old, we became her 3rd owners, so she understandably had some separation anxiety. She loves to run, play, cuddle and eat!
The first is of her in her batman costume. She was yawning when I took the pic. The other is of her this winter with a scarf that we got her.

@anemonie: Love the stick picture, so sweet!
@kat2014: Haha, I used to have a cat named Nibbler who played fetch with bottle caps, cats can be so much fun! Too bad my husband is allergic to them 🙁
@MrsN14: Oh my goodness what an adorable puppy! Soooo cute!
@pmerr: Oh my gosh I love the batman costume!

First is my biggie boy, Chaucer. He is a Lab/Rot mix. Hes the craziest and most adorable bubbs ever. He turned 3 in November. His “birth mother” (hehe) is actually my mom’s boyfriend’s dog so I’ve had the joy of having him since he was a baby. He is my whole world and the only man I love more than my SO.
My other baby is the one and my SO and I got together. She is a bordercollie/pit mix. One of my coworkers was asking if i knew anyone who wanted a puppy because her friend was trying to give them away. Of course I said that I wanted one. So, I actually met the girl at about midnight in the parking lot of a nightclub to pick up the puppy. looked really sketchy but hey, it was a puppy deal. Her name is Monroe because of the black spot she has on her snout.
On our way home from the dog park. The old codger is totally exhausted. haha

This is my little Havanese Louis and his big sister Brandie, a shepherd mix. They love to hang out in our bonus room looking out onto the street on “their” couch.

You all have such lovely furry ones! Here’s Shiloh, 6 year old Weimaraner.

Here is my baby girl, Chloe. Chloe is an English Mastiff. I have had her since she was 8 weeks old. She is my heart and soul and she is a loving protector to her “babies”, my sons. She fetches her toys, about 3 times, then lays down for a 3 hour nap LOL She will only play with a few choice toys, even though she has a basket full. My Future Mother-In-Law has had to sew all of her “lovies” together more then once. Even though she is huge, she still thinks she is a lap dog and LOVES get spooning time with me.

- Wedding: November 2013 - St. Augustine Beach, FL
@pmerr: @Timshel: I think we can safely start a lookalike or at least a doggy sibling club for our lab/piitie/collie mixes.
Here’s Brutus. I adopted him from a no kill shelter when he was still a puppy. He is a spoiled only dog for now. He is 6 and a half years old now. He is such a calm, relaxed dog we take him with us to a lot of places. His favorite movie is Jaws; when we put it on Bru will sit back on the couch and watch the screen intently, especially during swimming/splashing scenes.
