I love making things, and I’ve had the time, so win-win.
So far I’ve completed:
Save the Dates (total DIY)
Petal aisle border with swirls
3-tier cathedral veil (beaded)
Photo booth backdrop (oversized flowers on 4×8 board)
Photo booth props (as I call them-“things on sticks”)
Cake & Dessert, Candy Bar, and Ice Cream bar overlays
Flip flop basket (really a painted box) with enough for 1/3 of the women folk
All the signs, painted on canvas (welcome, directions, thank you, candy bar, ice cream, in memory, etc.)
Escort tags on diy paper boxes with crocheted fortune cookies inside (with little personalized fortunes for each guest).
1000 orgami cranes, beaded and wired for the centerpieces
Faux mercury glass vases for the centerpieces
Faux mercury votives (2-4 per table)
Cake/dessert stand made from an old chandelier
Ribbon/Send off wands
Hand fasting cords for the ceremony
My bridal jewelry
BMs jewelry
Guest book (I made a scrapbook type thing)
2 Flower Girl pomanders (tiny crocheted flowers)
Toss & keep garter (crocheted)
Head table backdrop (punched flower garland and fake crystals & beads)
Bathroom basket
Candy/dessert favor bags and boxes
Cocktail stirrers for champagne toast
Card box
Still working on:
Painted paper flowers for centerpieces (just hit the half-way mark)
Table number frames
Strassing my shoes
Orgami kusudama flowers (for cocktail hour decor, w/ the cranes above)
Table runners (just dressing these up)
Haven’t started yet:
Flower girl tutus
Cake/dessert/candy table skirting
Head table skirting
Ceremony decor (a few fabric swags and some plants)
All other paper stuff like invites, programs, menus
My goal is to have all the DIY (except the paper stuff) done by Christmas. I get really inspired by all the projects on here. I would have never thought to glue pearls on my shoes, etc. There are a lot of very crafty and creative brides on the Bee.
