I’m 5’6 and 160. I’ve got big hips and a BIG butt so I chose a slim A-Line.

desirella :  Can I be so bold as to ask what size you ordered? I’ve been drooling over pippin for a while but I won’t be able to try it on before I buy it. Totally scouring the internet for ladies my size-ish to get an idea of how it looks (and it certainly looks great, from your photos).

I’m 5’3″ 110 lbs, and unfortunately pear shaped. I wanted some sort of fit and flare/mermaid/trumpet, but always felt overwhelmed. I ended up with a sheath–it’s so light, comfortable, and surprisingly flattering. Except in this picture, where I unwisely ate Chipotle before going to pick up my dress.

tinneranne2 :  my dress is a size 12. Fits me perfectly except for the bust like I mentioned in the earlier post. I also bought some extra lace and we will be adding some draping off shoulder sleeves. The pippin is so lovely and a bit unique. I imagine you wouldn’t regret getting it. I remember my consultant pulling it and I shook my head at it but she made me try it on and I am forever grateful.

I will also divulge that I am wearing some rago shapewear underneath which just smooths everything out and offers some extra support. I am undecided if I will wear it for the wedding since I feel great in the dress either way.

Here is from a fitting before the wedding:

I am 5’4″ and weighed ~150 lbson the day of my wedding.  I am an hourglass figure with hips slightly larger than my bust.

This is my dress. I have yet to get alterations done on it. I plan to have it taking in a bit on the sides, have it hemmed and have a line of buttons added to the back to hide the zipper. I’m planning on wearing a hairpiece (no veil) and a sparkly belt to help jazz it up a bit.

tinneranne2 :  totally not trying to be out of line, but just a warning. Pippin was my dream dress for years! I knew I loved her and she was the dress I’d  be married in so I looked for a cheap preowned  to order. Like you, I wanted to be sure on sizing so I called close to 20 bridal shops that carried watters and wtoo before finding one that had a Pippin in stock to try on. After  trying it on I was so upset! The  dress was so heavy I felt like I couldn’t hold it up on my body, it had tons of uncomfortable boning, and made me look absolutely shapeless (I am 5’4 and 130).

Maybe you wouldn’t mind the weight or boning, but just a friendly warning that as beautiful and unique as Pippin is I’d be weary to purchase without trying on first.

To go along with the post, here is what I went with. Wtoo Agatha, so light and airy. I am in love every time I try it on!

I am 5’2 & weigh about 110. I went with fit and flare with no petticoat. For my first marriage, I was 100lbs & wore a ball gown. Just because one dress in a certain style doesn’t work, don’t give up on the style completely!  Each dress fits differently. I don’t have a pic of my ball gown but here’s me in my fit n flare.
