annb9 :  Sigh. I love Leanne Marshall dresses, that one was exquisite on you!

OP, I’m not sure if you’re still reading, but I’m shorter and chubbier than you (5’2” 135 lbs) and found a lot of wedding dresses that looked pretty good on my non-model figure.  I ultimately went with an A line, but was pleasantly surprised by how good fitted dresses looked with my big butt/hips.

Dress I chose:

Dress I almost chose, a fit-and-flare (the sample was fresh off the runway so obviousy too small):

Another fit-and-flare I loved:

I liked this sheath, but felt self-conscious about how it hugged my hips/thighs:

Dresses I felt were less flattering on my height/body type:

ballgown (too overwhelming on a shortie like me):

High neck (would work better on a taller/leaner figure):

Modified A line (not sure why this looked off…maybe because I have a long torso?)

Hope that helps!  My body is nowhere near a model’s proportions, but I was able to recalibrate what I expected to see in the mirror, and was able to love it in wedding dresses anyway.

I’m 5’6″ and around 135. I’m a pear shape through and through and I chose to flaunt the booty for my first wedding. We’ll see what round two brings. dress_all

I’m 5’4″ about 125, so similar to your frame it sounds like.  I also have boobs and a butt!  My dress was perfect!  It’s tight through the hits then flares out gently.  It hugs my butt and hips so it actually makes them feel slimmer.  The bodice has a stiff corset from the bust to the hips and doesn’t slip at all.  I usually can’t wear strapless because my boobs pull the top down!  THIS hold and them up really well!  Good luck!

I’m 5’6″ ,weigh around 160 and wear a size 10, generally. I tried on a few mermaid gowns which flattered my figure  but I fell in love with the huge ballgown that I ended up wearing.

It’ll look better once I have th right size, but I think it’s absolutely beautiful.

I’m 5’3″, weigh around 126 lbs and am street size AU 8 (I think that’s US 4?). Decent boobs, bit of a flat butt, a bit hippy. Sample dress was too big for me so I’m looking forward to seeing how it looks like fitted to my body!IMG_1968

Here is my dress on the model vs. on me. The model is probably somewhere around 5’10 or 5’11. For reference, I am 5’7 and 140lbs (street size 6). We seem to share the same athletic build, although she is more slender.
