SO custom designed a ring and gave it to me.

He proposed with a family ring so that I wouldn’t know it was coming. He told me it didn’t have to be my ring and that he wanted me to pick out what I like. 9 months later, here’s the beauty I chose. An 8mm C&C FB round brilliant moissanite in a low-set Tiffany style 6 prong solitaire. We couldn’t be happier.Β

We had a conversation in the kitchen which started with him saying, “So- uh- how does this whole ring thing work?”  We settled on me sending him a picture of some things I liked and him picking it out.  After I sent him an email with a few pics it was total radio silence on the issue- not even an email reply. For a while I thought he hadn’t really looked at it at all. Later I found out he had spent hours studying it!  I love that he got it for me, and I love having a low profile ring! Here’s what I sent him:

… and here’s what he proposed with:

@Juliette Eliza:  Stunning! Truely a statement band. Very feminine and eye catching, bet you get lots of complements for it πŸ™‚

I picked my e-ring all by myself. I had a very specific idea of what I wanted (coloured diamond in a halo setting) and didn’t think it was fair to through SO in the deep end and choose it himself. Plus it’s not an easy thing to find in shops and it took a lot of online searching to find one I liked at an affordable price.

For my wedding band I just told SO what I wanted in the end and he found it.

Wedding band is still to arrive and looks like it probably won’t get here in time for the wedding..But you never know. Really hope it does.

I wanted a princess cut solitaire, & have always wanted Tacori. He got an amazing deal on a white gold tacori setting. 2ct center bloom cut 2.5 tcw. Currently halo is diamonds, and center stone is white saphire until we can afford a moissanite maybe one day, honestly no rush πŸ™‚

He picked it out completely, & I truly love how unique it looks

@FutureMrsKisie:  I narrowed it down by letting him know I wanted a halo and which designer I would be most happy with, he did an amazing job!

My Fiance picked it out himself. πŸ™‚ I told him I liked the diamonds all the way around the band… so he compromised.

My fiance picked my ring out all by himself, and I don’t think I could have picked out anything more beautiful myself! πŸ™‚ I have always loved cluster rings and channel settings, and I love how elegant, unique, pretty and dainty it looks πŸ™‚ It’s 1ct tdw set in 18ct yellow gold from Michael Hill, and it’s been on my finger for a whole year and I still stare at it as much as when he first gave it to me πŸ™‚

We actually finished this today! He made the purchase this evening. My SO was pretty nervous and just wanted me to pick something and tell him what to buy. That sort of made me feel awkward because I wanted him to pick but then I realized how daunting that must be for a guy. I wanted to see what he would pick because I am curious. Our 5 year anniversary was on Thursday and in the past 5 years, I’ve really come to trust his taste. But he is busy – being in the Army and all – so I decided I’d help him out!

I designed my own rings on bluenile. I came up with 2 – .38 ct diamond on the heirloom pave cathedral setting and the other a .40 ct solitaire ring. I sent him the wishlist and told him to pick. He was anxious and still held that he wanted me to tell him what to get but I said look – I already know that you’re going to propose in the next two weeks so we’re basically engaged and we’ve already talked about WHEN we want to get married – I need SOME element of surprise!

I think he got me the heirloom one, but honestly, I would love either ring. I think they’d both be beautiful and I’m so excited to see whichever one he got me in person! I can’t wait!

I showed him a bunch of ring designs I liked. (Custom mockups) He picked one out of that bunch and had it made. He also thought up the inscription. (They’re the meanings of our given names in latin.)

Sorry the pic is blurry!  My phone doesn’t focus!  I’m not sure what style (maker, Hearts on Fire, Facets of Fire, etc.) the ring is, but all I know is I love the ring!  I’m not much for wearing jewelry, and I had been hinting that when he proposes, the ring should be simple.  I had shown him a Hearts on Fire ring, knowing I wouldn’t get that one, but any ring he chose would be perfect for me.  I told him he did good picking the ring, and he had help from the jewelry counter person where he works.  I said it didn’t matter.  HE helped pick it!  I can’t quit staring at it, and it’s been six months since we got engaged!
