When we first started dating, he said he always thought that the woman should pick out the engagement ring. I had mentioned that I loved 3 stone yellow gold rings when we started dating. After a few years of dating (4) and priorities changing, I said I wanted a sapphire ring, not expensive, in yellow gold. Since I didn’t expect he wanted to get married any time soon (plus I figured it would be something that would be discussed) and reassured with his original statement of choosing my own ring, I was completely blown away by the 10 stone Canadian diamond white gold ring he presented to me. He wanted something that would be practical and not get caught in clothing or need prongs replaced and would be comfortable wearing every day for the rest of my life.

My husband chose this completely by himself with no help , I had no idea he was even looking. The next part is I had sent a picture of almost the exact ring to my. sister a long time before for the future. She didn’t help him tho it was crazy!

He told me his budget (£500/$760) and asked me to look for some designs to give him an idea, given the tiny budget I was determined to get the biggest diamond I could for it and sent him pics of .25ct 9kt white gold rings from chain jewellery stores. So he knew I wanted a round brilliant cut solitare, white gold. He then surprised me with a .10ct 18kt ring- he chose quality (the diamond is near perfect and higher quality metal) and a unique design for me over the quantity I was looking at- I.e mass produced designs But bigger diamond. knowing no one else has my ring and that he knew it was ‘the one for me the minute he saw it’ means so much more than a huge rock!! I can’t take my eyes off it! I can get a big diamond any time but can only get the ring he chose to say ‘will you marry me’ wih once. I am a happy lady : ) all of these rings are jaw droppingly beautiful!!

My fiance and I worked together on mine. I had always imagined myself with a solitaire cushion (which we had first purchased a .94 cushion solitaire) but after a year I realized we had rushed it and I had really never taken the time to try anything else on, nor let him tag along to look. We decided together to “upgrade” and I am so in love with my ring, I’d never change it again! I have a 1.2 round brilliant with a .16 halo and a double layered .25 wedding band to complete my look. We both love the look and am both very much in love with my ring as well as my recently wedded hubby 🙂

FH picked it out all on his own (although I had mentioned I prefer cushion or round center stone, and had shown him a few styles I liked here and there, hint hint hahaha)
Ritani modern bypass replica w/ cushion cut center stone that he had made by a family friend jeweler / he got the stone from somewhere else (I think he found it online)

He picked it out with my best friends help…she talked him out of one that I would have hated……I love that woman

I told him I wanted conflict free and showed him a picture of something I liked, and he went and had the ring made with a private jeweler.

I was given a price range and told to go wild. The ring I picked out in the end, was exactly what my Fiance pictured himself buying me..

I told SO under no uncertain terms as soon as he started talking about rings that he should propose without a ring so that I may choose one myself. 😛 I’m the one who’ll be wearing it for the rest of my life so I have to love it!

I told him that I liked rose gold, solitaire, something delicate.
He came up with this peach sapphire masterpiece!

Ditto. He just told me that he never would have picked Verragio for me and that is literally the ONLY line of rings that I was going to choose from. I just couldn’t help it. They are so pretty 🙂

All I knew about my ring is the store it would be from so I would go on their website and and daydream, these were the ones I was hoping I would get one of:
He ended up getting me the middle one! 🙂
ETA: We discussed price points/carat size and that was it, the rest was all him.
