SO chose it all by himself/herself.

I gave SO an idea of what to choose.

    I custom designed a ring.

SO custom designed a ring and gave it to me.

    My ring is an heirloom.

SO and I worked together to rework an existing ring or stone.

SO reworked an existing stone or ring and surprised me with it.

I told Fiance what I wanted (black diamond with a halo), and we went shopping so he could see what I liked and I could try them on. Like some other bees, he happened to pick the one I liked best!

The only guidelines I gave were yellow gold and diamond. This is what he came up with. I absolutely love it! He’s always had a really good eye for picking jewelry so I trusted him completely. The sapphires were entirely his idea, and I think it was a great one 🙂

Fiance picked mine out himself! He based it off my grandma’s ring that he knew I loved.

I showed him pictures, and he did the details himself – metal, stone sizes, etc

I picked my Verragio. He would have had very different tastes… Ugly tastes haha. I learned when we went shopping together.

SO wanted a wow factor when he proposed but he really wanted me to love the ring he picked. So we went to every jewerly store in town and I picked a favorite from each one then he went back and chose his favorite of my favorites. I still haven’t gotten it yet but I’m excited to see his choice!

DH knew what I liked, and this is what he bought me:

I hadn’t specified at all that I’d want a thin dainty band, but the one he picked was perfect!  The band was one of my favorite things about it!

DH knows how picky I am about almost everything — especially something as expensive and important as my e-ring and wedding band.  We went ring shopping together, but he wanted me to choose what I wanted. He really didn’t want to provide much input into the process.  After I told him which specific setting, loose diamond, and wedding band I liked best, he later chose a time to go back to the jeweler’s and purchase all three at the same time.  He then was completely in charge of determining the date, time, and method of the proposal so that all of that would be a complete surprise to me, even though I would have a pretty idea of what the final ring(s) would look like.

We sort of picked it together – kinda? We went ring shopping together, just browsing, and looked at a bunch of different styles. He picked one for me to try and I *loved* it. He said he could tell the minute I saw it and he went back and got it.

I do love it, so much! 🙂

My Fiance and I had gone shopping a lot and I was just going to give him options but then I fell completely in love with the setting. I wanted him to pick the center stones size and everything though and he did a fantastic job!

I voted that we chose a ring together, but really, I chose it while SO stood there having no clue what the saleswoman and I were talking about! We originally went just to look around so I could give SO ideas. Afterward SO told me he still had no clue what to pick. Plus, they only had one of the setting I chose in stock, and it was being discontinued. We didn’t want to risk losing it and having to start over, so we ended up putting the ring on layaway that same day. I’m still waiting for the official proposal, but I LOVE the ring! SO told me he would have picked a solitaire on a plain white gold band, which isn’t really my style, and he never would have thought to incorporate sapphires, which I had my heart set on. So I’m glad we did it this way, and SO was happy that he didn’t have to worry about whether or not I’d like the ring!

I am super controlling and hate when I am not in charge of a situation.  But Fiance wanted to pick the ring himself.  So I told him my only thing was that I wanted a three stone and he could go from there.  Well a few months later I went batshit crazy on him because I was freaking out and thought I was going to hate what he picked.  I also decided I liked a cluster better then a three stone.  Needless to say it wasn’t a good moment for me.  He basically told me to back off and that he knew me well enough to get a ring I loved.  So I decided to listen to him because I was not going to ruin our relationship over a stupid ring.  Well he was right and did great in picking my ring, it’s a three stone but still has a cluster look.  I love it so much, I’m glad I backed off and let him have control this one time.

He knew I preferred sapphires over diamonds and picked out the engagement ring all on his own. He said it wasn’t exactly what he wanted to ge me. But at the time we had 3 mortgages between us and it was what we could afford. So instead we splurged on the wedding bands and I like the way it turned out. 🙂

    engagement ring and wedding bands.
