If there was really a “one-carat rule,” none of us would have e-rings!

Mine was Grandma’s, vintage circa 1935.  .58 ct. center stone with side brilliants of undisclosed size.  But they all sparkle!  Engagement Ring on top (obvs), stacked with Grandma’s band on bottom and my new band (vintage 2012) in between.

@MrsYokiman:  Thank you for your encouraging words. I think I will go with them. They have basically been the only ones helpful with getting me a custom band.

@ponyrider:  Thank you so much for your comment. She’s not going to give me one but oh well. My life isnt going to stop because of a rude Bee. I just hope she doesnt treat her husband the same way or else her marriage wont last long ๐Ÿ™

@LeonardLady:  I know right! I should have put it in decimal form but after a day of working and coming home to 3 children, one is autistic, yeah.. I just copied what I saw from the website!

@Scintillante:  Your ring is STUNNING!!! And thanks for the advice. I feel better now that I can get a wax model of the ring before they start working on it.

.25 ct round solitaire on a freakishly tiny finger (I think a 4.5).  It’s nothing like what I dreamed of (round black diamond, white diamond halo, white gold or platinum) but I don’t care – it’s from my Fiance and that’s all that matters ^_^.  I’m actually glad I ended up with something in yellow gold – it matches the heirloom wedding band I inherited from my great-aunt.

@MissSweetiepie:  I remember you posted a thread about the gap between your halo and stone and I wanted to tell you that I would not love your ring as much as I do without the gap.  I honestly don’t like gaps but that ring is stunning with the space between the stone and halo ๐Ÿ™‚

@inukoro1177:  Quick math lesson is in order! 3/3 = 1. Therefore, 2/3 is less than 1.

@inukoro1177:  her ring does appear larger but she didnt mean 2 or 3 carats, she meant two thirds of a carat. I get it, u thought she was a braggert making others feel bad, u were sticking up for them. However hHer ring is .66 points (1 carat is 100 pts) so you should apologize and move on.

This thread has morphed anyway, op asked for diamonds specifically and people are posting pics of diamond simulants.

Think there r some gemstone ring pics here too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Best wishes.

@angeluscado:  If you think your finger is freakishly tiny, mine is a 3.25!

Fiance was going to put a quality solitaire Canadian diamond ring on layaway; according to him, it hit a lot of the 4 Cs — the one he saw had colour grade F. Like Fiance said, “We were poor when we bought this ring.”

It is a lovely romantic reminder how his unconditional support has come a long ways. We’re doing much better off as my career has progressed since then.

The one in this box had colours G/H. Polar Ice (Canadian diamonds) mined from the NW Territories. Total carat weight (0.53) was far less than the rock he was eyeing on for me. He actually bought the ring as a commitment symbol before we bought a house together. I just didn’t feel comfortable to see him giving up so many things financially just for a diamond.

I get a lot of “oh, that’s small” comments, but it doesn’t bother me. Kiss

@leenh78:  Perhaps not freakishly tiny, but my hands always seem smaller than everyone else’s Tongue Out
