Ok I need help! This is my ring I have had since I got married in 2004 and I absolutely love it, wouldn’t want to change the setting. I consider adding on a halo, but I am not sure if it will look good. Recently I have been told about a chip in my pear stone plus a rainbow effect coming off the inclusion. A few jewelers have refused to work on it, so I sent it to my insurance. My stone is a .99 E color with a big table, so it looks like a 1.5. I have been warned and I am worried of the problems going forward with it, but I love my stone and want to keep it. The Insurance lady found only ONE stone to replace it with, and it was not too impressive so I told her I would look around. I have been to a lot of places, and all the stones to replace this size, is going to cost me more money, because of my dimensions. I wonder if keeping my stone and putting a halo on it with the insurance money would be a good idea to protect it instead (plus I get a bigger look). Please any suggestions? Thank you.
