Our reception will be held in a science museum in the middle of an exhibit that is basically a giant forest diorama. Since we’re not using live flowers in the ceremony, it seemed weird to use them here. Also, we wanted something that would reflect the foresty feeling and would look relaxed and fun. Here’s the mock-up…

The vase is filled halfway with dark river rocks, out of which emerge branches with paper dogwood blossoms and leaves. Each table will have a different animal from North Carolina wildlife, including river otter, black bears, fox, hare, deer, etc. (This idea was my fiance’s contribution, and he’s super excited about it.) The mock-up doesn’t look phenomenal in these photos, but in person it’s pretty charming and woodsy.

@sarasouth: Very cool and very creative! I got married at a zoo, so I dig the woodland theme. You can tell you guys are a fun couple with that theme! We had our reception in a building that housed the insect and amphibians. So many fun ways for you to play off of it! Your fiance did a good job!

@nikinyc: What kind of purple flowers are those??  I love them!  I was trying to find purple ones…

I thought so but have only seen them in blue or white… I want those for my flowers so bad with white roses for my CP’s:) Would go perfect on top of a black table cloth I may use,that or white….

So hard to coordinate colors with a black and white dress lol! I want everything to be soft,warm and romantic:)
