chel2thec:  Hello!- the wine bottles are actually really easy to make. My mom and I used spray glue, but it was pretty messy so you could probably just get away with just modpodging the bottles? My mom and I bought a mixture of different kind of glitters – from very fine glitters to chunkier glitters in each color we used. My wine bottles were gold/blue and gold/pink so we mixed a bowl of all gold glitter (combing the fine and chunky glitter together) and then one with gold and blue, one of gold and pink and then another one of just pink. We would work our way down the wine bottle, starting at the top and putting glue on the top 1/3 of the bottle and then putting just gold glitter on, then we’d do another section below that one the same size and use the gold/blue glitter and finally another section of just blue.

I can’t remember how much glitter we ended up buying – we got it from Joann Fabrics though so we got a bunch of smaller bottles and then in the end my mom just ended up returning what we didn’t use (which wasn’t a lot).

Some glitter will come off, so be prepared to have some glitter around your house for a while! Hope that helps! πŸ™‚

aprilmb1:  Hi there, no not difficult at all. There was abit of fall-off of the glitter but not enough to disrupt the actual glitter decoration. It was definitely worth the time πŸ™‚

poutyunicorn:  That was beyond helpful, thank you SO much! I have seen some that I really don’t like because I don’t like the consistency of the glitter so I wanted to make sure I did everything I could to avoid that. πŸ™‚

So far I’ve made/will be assembling my own centerpieces. Vases are from the dollar store (7 1/2″ tall). I will be buying bulk fake flowers in some kind of branchy/white from afloral.com. I have a mix of stones/moss at the bottom (each from the dollar store). And I found these lighted branches for ~$4 each at Christmas Tree Shops!

My fav diy was our pumpkin centerpieces! We carved out all the pumpkins and put them together with loose flowers ordered from my florist!

aprilmb1:  Just to not worry too much about being perfect – your bound to have some spots a little bit more bare than others (as far as the glitter) but in the end no one can tell but you! Also, I think having different varations of glitter (fine, chunky) really helped make them sparkle!

And be prepared to have glitter EVERWHERE for a while πŸ™‚

I tried out my centerpieces this weekend.  The candle is a bit junky (just ran around trying to find something in the house to work when it looked empty without it) So would use a largish flameless candle inside.  Any advice to make it look better?  I’ve gotten some suggestions to have some more flowers on the sides of the lanterns and around the candle etc.  Any help is appreciated.IMG_3879IMG_3881

Oh man… I DIYed sooooo much. All the flowers (including for the centerpieces), all the paper goods, the favors, decor, the freaking boxes we put the groomsmen’s ties in.. everything. Here are my favorites:

My bouquet:

All the paper goods (invitation suite, STD, favor boxes, programs):

And a non-pro shots of the inside of the invitation:

I also made this champagne and ferrero rocher pineapple as a hostess gift for my bridal shower:
