blankenshiptobe:  Thanks! We had some people worried that it wouldn’t work because they got dresses/shirts from different stores and different designers, so they weren’t all exactly the same yellow, but I thought they all went together well and it gave them more options to find something they liked/could afford.

I told them just black cocktail dresses to the knee.  I’ve seen all their dresses and can’t wait to see them together!

I’m getting all the dresses for my bridesmaids custom made for them. They’ll all be full length but with different necklines and in different shades of grey. They were originally going to be in black but my mother had this silly fear that since I’m wearing a red gown, the bridal party would look rather “goth” – which I had no problem with but it’s important to choose one’s battles so different shades of grey it is.

Picking up the dresses next year – fingers crossed that it all works out!

Oh man I love this thread! Fiance and I are planning to have all a mismatched wedding party too! I’m planning on doing a color palette for the ladies and the men’s ties and letting them pick whatever they want. Only restrictions being no jersey cotton for the dressed and no dark dark suits for the men. All these pictures make me very hopeful about the idea. ๐Ÿ™‚ I think it’s so much better for everyone involved, no trying to coordinate schedules, no time off from work, everyone gets to save $$$ and get what they want!

I LOVE your BM’s dresses! I haven’t found mine yet, but I am planning on doing a short aqua/mint color very close to yours and letting all 6 of them pick their own dress. I’m curious if they all purchased them from the same store since the colors look almost the same? I like the idea of going to a regular dress store so the dresses don’t look so “bridesmaidy.”<br />
