ooh I can’t wait to find out what types of presents you Bee’s receive!!

becomingamrs: a push present is a present that the new mom gets from the new dad as a thank you for ‘pushing’ the baby out.  I just think it’s a perfect excuse for a present!

I don’t have a baby but I love this idea.  In my culture the new dad’s family gets the new mom a present, (always jewelry).  When I was born my mom got beautiful gold flower earrings with turquoise enamel. When my brother was born she got a matching dragonfly necklace.  Now she’s passed it on to me and I wear them all the time.  I love constantly being reminded of their significance.

@Hillzie: I’m Russian Jewish. The custom is a Russian tradition.  I’ve never heard of Jewish people doing this but maybe it’s a Jewish thing as well.  Not really sure.

My sister in law got a digital SLR camera. Daddy took the first photos of the baby with it… and the hundreds since then!

I don’t have a baby, but I already told my Darling Husband that when I do, I don’t want jewelry, I want sessions with a personal trainer, and I want him to watch the baby when I go to the gym!

I don’t have a baby and don’t plan on having one for a while, but I’m hoping for some sort of charm bracelet or something like that.  I’m SUPER sentimental and would love to have some sort of present that I can add to with each child we have.

My sister had two children pretty close (one ’02, one ’03) and one has diamonds as the birthstone and one has emeralds so my brother in law had a band made with alternating diamonds and emeralds – she wears it on the opposite side of  her wedding band next to her engagement ring.  I can’t remember what she received for baby number three but he’s an August baby (like her) and it’s one of the less appealing birthstones so I don’t think it gets as much wear (maybe earrings or something?)

My dad gave my mom a saphire and diamond ring, which I wore as my borrowed & blue on my wedding day. We hadn’t planned it out but that made it all the more special the day of.

Hubs gave me a necklace from Tiffany with a pendant that has her initials on it.  Its getting engraved to also include her birthday.  He would have never thought of it on his own though.  My sister told him to get me something, and I put the Tiffany catalog on his nightstand with a post it note attached with the page number and size of the item i wanted.  LOL

Sometimes they need a little help!

@CanAmBride: I sooo agree with that idea! That would be the best present for me, too.
