I’m sure you have the standard things down so some “odd” ones I collected along the way as not to forget:

  • snacks for the limo for the bridal party (keep em goin for the photos!)
  • water in the church for you before you go down the aisle
  • Have Tip money divided and assigned to bestman/whoever
  • Deliver vases to florist (we’re using our own vases)
  • your emergency kit
  • Ring bearer/reader gifts
  • Bag for reception/hotel (extra shoes/dress change/brunch outfit)
  • your something old/new/borrowed/blue
  • Checklist for day of–delgate this to someone to read off! (rings, veil, etc)

Looking forward to seeing what others say to see what I’ve forgotten, great thread!

  • Do a walk through with minister
  • get a bridal hotel room (the alternative is getting ready with two dogs that would totally trash my dress)
  • Have a couple meetings with day of planner to figure out timeline etc
  • meet with photographer to nail down ideas/photo plan
  • choose ceremony music for harpist
  • get count to reception/caterer
  • create wedding detail update document for guests (including maps)
  • get license
  • hire makeup/hair artist if having one (still undecided)
  • pay remaining balances as they come due (before they are due if Fiance has his way)
  • pack bags for honeymoon (leaving a couple hours after reception ends)

Let’s see:

*My first dress fitting is on Tuesday

*We need to number the response cards, stuff the envelopes, put stamps on them, and mail them out

*Get clear frames for our donation cards

*Finish paying off what’s left of things (we still have the florist, some of the photographer, the balance on our honeymoon, our wedding rings)

*Get Fiance his wedding gift (still torn between a really nice watch and a PS3)

*Our parties and my bridal shower are coming up in July. So we’ll need to write thank yous for the gifts I get at the shower

*Get our marriage liscence

*Our pre-marital counseling day required by our minister

*Meet with our minister to discuss the ceremony

*Make programs after we finalize the ceremony

*Figure out menu for reherseal dinner

*Decide on hord’s. for the reception

*Make a must play and don’t play list, finalize all special dance songs

*Put together centerpieces

*My bridal shoot is in August

I’m sure there’s a ton more I’m not thinking of, but these are the ones that most readily come to mind.

We’re a ways off (like 14.5 months) so my current list is pretty short.

* sign and return contract.  remember to add note that byo homebrew is acceptable (YAY for venue allowing that!)
* go dress shopping while visiting mom
* invite ppl to be in wedding party
* look at photographers’ websites while visiting mom
* deal with families yelling at us for wanting to have wedding near us instead of them
* deal with families yelling at us for not wanting a rabbi
* start figuring out save-the-dates and who gets them

In no particular order of when things need to get done, and divided into what I need to do, what my fiance needs to do, and what we both need to do:

Escort cards – make
Centerpieces – Design w/ florist or DIY
Florist – Finalize contract, deposit
Makeup trial – Inspiration pics, book, go
Hair trial – Inspiration pics, book, go
Rehearsal dinner invitations
Out-of-town bags
Take invitations to post office
Double check w/ PhotoPink re: Photobooth
Photobooth props
Material for bouquets
Cake topper finalists for fiance to peruse
Verify engagement pics w/ PhotoPink
Bathroom baskets (maybe)
Finalize ceremony
Aisle decor
Garter (maybe)
Bridespeople gifts
Guest book
Card box
Accessories – hair, jewelry, undergarments, shoes
Break in shoes
Make sure bridespeople have purchased clothing
Wedding day timeline
Dress alterations
Double-check with coordinator re: DOC tasks
Verify when we’ll do final venue meeting
Update rooms blocked at hotel as needed
Double-check wedding website, update as needed
Write shower thank you notes
Get name change crap
Figure out wedding-day tasks for wedding party
Notify vendors of timeline
Double-check when all vendors needs money
Attend shower and bachelorette parties
Communicate linen colors to Mosaic vs. venue?

Bouts and ties
Pick out wedding ring
Groomspeople gifts
Make wine ceremony box and get wine/glasses
Make sure groomspeople won’t be naked
Accessories – cuff links, socks
Fail to get maimed at bachelor party
Travel arrangements for your parents
Ask reader to be in ceremony

Seating chart assignments
Choose linen colors
Finalize music selections
Engrave rings
Select cake topper
Take engagement pictures
Taste additional cake flavors and finalize selection
Figure out if we want to do bride/groom gifts
Decide on booze selections/amounts and go shopping
Write vows
Keep registry up-to-date
Write toasts, if we’re doing them
Wedding gift thank you cards

And yes, I have most definitely noticed the discrepancy in list lengths…
