My dress was $850 on sale from Davids Bridal ($1050 full price). Then I dropped $300 on alterations (hem and bustle).

My Casablanca 1948 cost $650 (it was a sample), with $250 for alterations, so $900 total. I wanted to be under 1K, so it worked out perfectly!

My Lazaro gown was originally $4500 but I got it at a trunk show for right under $4000. The sash was $800 so I paid about $4700 for my dress.

mine was Alfred Angelo 2009 and it is $700 before the bustle which is TBD. They discontinued the dress and I got it on sale right off the rack…no alterations needed the dress fits like a dream!

My Lazaro gown was originally priced at $5700, but I paid about $3200 for it.  Lazaro sent the wrong dress for a bride and the salon was going to keep it for a sample.  I went to try on dresses the day they put it out as a sample so it was in perfect condition!

@Miss Sydney: CDN = Canadian Dollars. I live in Vancouver :-). I’m not sure where you can get the dress in Oz. It’s still fairly new so maybe it’s just not available there yet?

@Meliss – Thank you! I really like yours, too! (Both, but particularly the Romona Keveza)

I guess we must have similar tastes Smile

Mine is a Casablanca 1690.  It’s from a discount bridal boutique.  I don’t mind that it’s an older style dress.  It’s never been owned and I’m on a budget!  With tax it came to $432.  It fits perfectly so all I have to have done to it is have bustles put on which I’m guessing will be around $100.  I came in under budget and it’s a beautiful dress!

I ended up spending about $600 on two dresses after alternations. The reception dress is an ivory lace gown with a champagne sash from 2Be Bride (can’t find a photo online) that I bought as a sample for $250. This dress was reguarly $1250.

I had previously bought the reception dress from Ann Taylor in 2008 right as they stopped selling bridal gowns (now they bought them back). This dress was regular $600 and I got it on sale for about $200.

Alterations (bustle, shortening straps and shortening a hem) made up the rest of the cost. Overall, I am pleased to have gotten such good deals but thought I had spent less than I did. My budget was as cheap as possible, haha Fiance thought I would cross into 4 didgets and I told him he was crazy.

Such beautiful dresses!  Thanks everyone for posting, I’m getting ready to start shopping and this info is a HUGE help!  And I’ll definitely take the advice of calling around once I found the dress I want.

Alfred Angelo dream in color 1708.  It was $699 on sale, I think normally $849 plus $150 for the veil and $125 for alterations.
