We all love presents, right? 🙂 No matter what holidays you are celebrating in the coming months, I’m sure everyone is starting to think about shopping for holiday gifts! Let’s talk about what kind of prezzies you’re getting your friends and family!

@pengoala: omg if someone got me an armful of kittens, they would be my new favorite person!

@lolot: Haha i know right? 🙂 Amazing.

@lolot: Me too! Sad that that image is photoshopped.
I need to get on with the holliday shoping. I know what I am getting people, but haven’t gotten anything other than FI’s. Normally I’m 90% done at this point to avoid the crazy part of the holiday season.

@pengoala: Mom gets a coffee giftcard and some small stocking stuffers. My brother got an Adventure Time tshirt from Hot Topic that says, “Makin’ bacon pancakes” or something weird like that, lol. He’s kind of a weird guy, so I figured he’d appreciate that as well as some moustache bandaids for those manly scrapes and bruises.
My dad is easy to buy for, but he always gets the same stuff from everyone so he always gtes about two cases of Spam, pork n beans, and pistacios lol, so I decided to go homemade for his gift and make him a basket of all lemon and cocunut cookies, bars, mini pies, etc.
DH? So far just sweats and stoocking stuffers. If his smoker takes a dump before Christmas he will get that. If not, I am going to pick something else from his list 🙂
The in laws are getting a giftcard for a fancy restaurant. Because they hate each other we always try to get them a gift they can use together, lol.

Mr. Lk got his gift a few months ago. He wanted it right then, because when it comes to gifts he’s a bit impatient. So yeah, whatever.
DS is getting tickets to go see Jim Gaffigan, a few books and DVDs, a hoodie from his high school, PJs (it’s tradition), an ornament for the tree (tradition), and a few other small things for his stocking.
Our nephew is getting an Octonauts play set that SIL sent me a link to. I had no clue what to buy a 3 year old. haha
And we’re trying to convince everyone else to skip gifts. I mean, we’re all adults who buy ourselves what we want, when we want it. So really, why stress to buy each other yeat another thing just because the calendar says so? I am so over christmas gift buying. I’d rather put my mental and financial resources into something more productive.

Aaah I have no idea yet! We’re low on dough now so I don’t think we’ll be gifting too generously this year. Probably restaurant gift cards for the adult couples and something small for the kids. My husband and I have decided not to exchange gifts.

Well, this Christmas is easy… we are getting friends and family wedding photos! Not like, a bunch of pictures of me and Darling Husband, because that’s just narcissistic haha. But like, we are taking all the nice photos of them and we are putting them in nice frames. I mean, for our immediate family, we will make them photo books and probably include like, the whole family photos and maybe a couple of us, but ya know.
We figure how often do our friends and families have nice professional photos of them taken? And we had a photobooth so we have a lot of very nice ones from that!

We hoping to find a few fun gifts in Las Vegas after Thanksgiving. We don’t have any super concrete ideas yet though. My SIL just bought a condo, so trying to think of some kinds of housewarming/home-y ideas for her gifts. I bought my husband a book he’s had his eye on, but I haven’t figured out what his main gift will be yet this year.
And then there’s my mom, my Mother-In-Law, and my husband who all want to know what I want…and I have even less of an idea there!
I wish I could get a puppy as a present!

Darling Husband is the easy one this year, he wants a hunting blind, so he is getting a hunting blind, maybe something else that he has circled out of the Cabelas catalogue.
My mom is really difficult, I have great ideas for her, but they are all too expensive for Darling Husband and I to take on on our own, and my dad is a cheapass who keeps saying ‘we set a $35 limit, so I can’t go in with you’ it’s a dumb excuse.
As for everyone else, and it feels like there are at least a hundread people on our list, I don’t know, and for whatever reason I am havig a hard time caring.
Darling Husband is horrible when it comes to getting gifts, he wants to spend $60-$70 per person, and we simply don’t have that kind of money, especially when we have 14 people to buy for *head desk*. I don’t wanna!!!! *stomps foot*

I already started shopping =)
Husband is getting a decanter set for his scotch. Its a clear globe that sits on an axis and spins. So freakin awesome
I bought my mom tickets for us to see Cher but I already have those. I got her a couple decorative plates to hang (its her thing).
Mother-In-Law and SMIL are both getting diamond candles. One is getting this nifty wrap sweater and the other a new purse.
My aunt is getting a L’Occitane hand cream gift box. I love those creams and shes getting several to play with =)
Im still torn on my moms and aunt’s spouse equivalents. They both are kinda watever about things.
Were not spending as much as usual since we plan to go to Rome right before. Im also trying to spot some good deals on new appliances. Oh the joys of home ownership

OMG armfuls of kittens! Well, I know what’s on my wish list now!
For Darling Husband, I’m getting him a laptop that he’s had his eye on. We just got the same one for his mom.
My dad is really getting into bread baking, so I got him two awesome breadmaking cookbooks, a dutch oven (which is necessary for the perfect no-knead bread), a digital food scale to measure flour with and a couple of other little things – some artisinal flours, bread topping mixes with seeds and herbs, a couple of little side towels and maybe a fermenting bucket.
For my brother and SIL, I’m making them a “date night” basket. They have a toddler and don’t get out too much, so they’ll be getting all the ingredients for a nice evening in – some movies, popcorn and fancy hot chocolate, a bottle of champagne, a box of chocolates or some fancy brownie mix, a gift card for takeout at a local restaurant, a cozy blanket and some candles.
For my niece, who will be 20 months old, I got her an awesome play kitchen and some play food. SO excited about that gift!
I’m not sure about my mom yet – but either a pair of Tiffany silver earrings or some pearl earrings, probably. And maybe the fragrance sampler from Sephora she’s been eyeing.

Sounds like some people have some great ideas so far!! 🙂 I just spent the last couple hours perusing through gift possibilities. I came across one of my girl friends’ pinterests albums labeled “Want!” Hahaha I was like YAY treasure! 😀 Hopefully she hasn’t bought most of these things. Maybe her fiance will know if she has what i’m thinking of getting her, a set of bangles off of Etsy!

Mom + Dad are getting a beautiful typographic quilt.
Brother is getting a nice leather guitar strap.
Sister is getting a cute bed for the puppy we bought when she visited me last.
Boyfriend is getting a fancy straight razor for shaving.
Haven’t bought for my friends yet. Those tend to be gifts I come by rather than seek out. We’ll see!

@pengoala: Mom and Dad, Mother-In-Law, Grandparents, DH’s Grandma – all getting our wedding photobooks. I know they want this so its not a ‘look at me’ gift! And probably something homemade like apple butter.
DH- parts or $ for his four wheeler, Best buy gift card, boot socks, joggin pants…idk we will see
I also know of a young family that lives off minimum wage. They have a newborn son and I want to help them out. DH’s grandma is close with this couple and loves them dearly. We are not rich my anymeans, there are a lot of things we want and cant afford, but this couple needs ‘things’ more than we do. So I think I am going to buy a few things for the baby and get them a $100 GC to walmart and a little CG to a restaurant near their home.
