@rcac1208:  Kirkland(costo) brand detergent is what I use now.  I grew up using Tide but I swear the Kirkland detergent works just as well.  I haven’t really compared the price but I mainly shop at Costo and figure it should be cheaper.

@rcac1208:  Yes, we use the Kirkland liquid detergent.  We really like it!

Tide pods unless it’s a very small load, then I’ll just use a little bit of normal Tide detergent!

@rcac1208:  I use either the Kirkland stuff or my homemade stuff.  Homemade stuff works pretty good, but I don’t trust it, so once in a while I wash everything with the Costco soap.  I’ve been using that for years with no issue.  Doesn’t get out the mystery oil stains on husband’s shirts, but I doubt anything would.

Oh – oxyclean.  I put that in just about every load (and it’s mixed in mine).

I have to use the “free & clear” kind b/c I’m allergic to a lot of scented detergents. I try to buy the eco-friendly detergents, but I usually but the least expensive detergent that meets those criterion. I’ve never had a problem getting our clothes clean.

Gain! I love the smell, there is nothing like climbing in to bed with freshly washed sheets.

We use Gain, I can’t get enough of the smell!  Although it can be a bit more expensive I only buy it when its on sale and make sure to stock up.

I use either Tide or Purex. I’m allergic to something that is in All because any time I use it I break out in this huge rash.

Usually All Free & Clear but I would try anything as long as it’s the free and clear type.

@rcac1208:  I used to use the costco/kirkland free and clear & had no problems with it. I found a recipe for home made laundry soap a few months ago and decided to give it a try. It’s basically washing soda, borax and a bar of soap (most recipes call for fels naptha bar) – you can make it dry or liquid. Anywho I used my homemade stuff now and LOVE it. I can’t say its better than the costco brand but its wicked cheap to make! I have no reason/need to make my own detergent but i decided one day to give it a try and its been working out great for us.

The only ones I can use are Gain and Cheer (so I just voted Gain). I’m allergic to all the other ones, even the scent free ones that are supposedly hypoallergenic (ahahahaha, NO). We also use Downy fabric softener.

We used to use Purex, but have switched to Tide simply because I adore the pods. Now, even my kids can run the laundry without me fearing that they’ve used too much or too little laundry detergent. Now that we’ve been using it awhile, I love the smell, especially combined with the Bounce Dryer Bar. The older I get, the more convenience is a factor.
